    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Bowled a couple more times this week, still tucking the little finger behind/on top of/around the spin finger. Still seems to be working, getting more spin and more accuracy as well (which I find a little odd). So might be worth a go if anyone has time to try it.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

I haven't posted on here in while but I have been trying to keep up with reading everything on the thread. First off, I really hope Joe's operation went well and he's feeling better. That's an awful thing to happen to anyone but at ten it must be especially tough for him. I haven't bowled much...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

I would also be interested to see a video comparison. My coach also stressed the importance of keeping the head straight, but he didn't mention any ways of going about it. I'll try the tucking in the elbow next time I practise, since my acuracy has been rather horrific of late, but it would be...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Congrats mate! I can only imagine how long it will take me to start getting five-fors, but it's good to know what's in store if you put the work in.

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

My problem with the height of my arm mainly stems from me getting lazy. I'll bowl a few god balls with a high-ish arm, then get lazy and let my arm drop. If it's really bad then I have an impression that it is getting close to looking like Malinga. When I really concentrate then I can get it...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Yeah I was thinking I'll probably keep my grip as it is. The one he showed me just feels too wrong. When I use my original one it comes out rotating around the seam, but using his feels like my fingers just get in the way and it doesn't come out of the hand as well. The other tips were good...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Bowled in the nets with the rest of the team for the first time today. I've been practicing alone for a couple of hours a day for the last two or three weeks, and things have been coming along quite nicely. For the first two weeks, I would start out being absolutely rubbish, all of the balls...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

I should clarify that I'm new to organized cricket; I've played many times in the park with a few people and a tennis ball, and played at a club in England for a few years as a kid. So, while I don't have any real experience of actually playing, I have bowled medium pace before, and not had any...

    Wrist Spin Bowling (part Five)

Hello all, I've been reading through this forum quite a lot in the last few months, and I finally started playing last week. Despite the many tribulations, you've all inspired me to bowl leg spin. Having done so for one week I can say that my bowling is mostly awful, but the half dozen that...

    Hello Everybody!

Yeah, the city does have some pitches around; I've seen some on the bus from Manhattan to the airport. I'm six hours away from the city by the Finger Lakes, though, so it's all hills and woods and not much demand for cricket. We have a club here at school, mostly international students from...

    Hello Everybody!

Yeah, Facebook does seem to be dominating everything a bit, doesn't it? It looks like the spin forum is the one getting the most consistent posts, thankfully, so keep up the good work. I'm out in the middle of nowhere at university in upstate New York at the moment, but as soon as I finish my...

    Hello Everybody!

I'm just starting to play cricket again after a 12 year break. Unfortunately, I was nine years old then, so I'm pretty much starting over again. Being out in California has made it somewhat difficult to get back into the game, but it's starting to catch on and there quite a few clubs now...
