Thanks smoke. You summed up the situation very well. I never used any threatening words or threatened to touch him like some bloke mentioned nor would I ever as i umpire footy and cricket and actually got along with Ron very well. It was an emotional week for me and my family and my emotions got the better of me which i am disappointed about, but as you said it does happen to the best of us especially when we are in the heat of battle and keen to win for our clubs.
You blokes were exceptional, tough but fair, a great game and thank you for putting the situation in perspective. I don't write on the forum because it's not worth the effort and i didn't want to defend myself on there because it would have only added fuel to the fire and also because what was said was absolute rubbish and I didn’t want to give it the time of day. So I’m glad you were able to put in a good word for me and add some truth to what was being said.
