The BaggyGreens Thread

Bad time to roll em, dusk, almost when the artificial lite takes over and the Duke begins to talk. We may pay the price and see our comfortable lead whittled fast.

We have. Is 3-28 after a handful of overs with Smith, Konstas, Khawaja back in the sheds. We'd have been better off timing when we need us to be batting and it is certainly not after dusk.
These west indies pitches are not up to world standard, the low scores made both team in the entire series proves it.

More this ball, well both. Far too much in favor of mostly the swing bowler as Starc proved this morning. Another Windies Test that will finish on the third day. Still we will clean sweep the Frank Worrell Trophy and have a great start to the WTC. 👏

Well said but I do feel for the windie bowlers who bowled really well, it was their batsmen that let them down the entire series.

Agree. When they get a few batsmen able to protect their wicket, Windies will be a serious competitor.

Barrell stole Hazes thunder, taking a rare Test hat trick with his swing. If he had have bowled earlier in his career like he has past two years, have played Tests far sooner.
Unfortunately his age doesn't assist him right now it's more of a hindrance, he's bobbed up a bit too late and has missed his opportunity to have a long test career.

Wasnt this A series the perfect time to blood one of pacers Mahli Beardman, Charlie Anderson, Callum Vidler, or all three, given many pundits have them as a future Baggy Greens pace attack. Off spinner Raf MacMillan too.

I believe CA has them in a strength and conditioning course.

This series was more to find openers, which is a bit shit because the pitches have been roads.

McSweeney unable to double up hurts his chances of a recall. Patterson needed to cash in against the pacers yesterday as he is a moderate at best player of spin. Weatherald will be loving this road.

If Weatherald doesn’t have an awful start to the shield I reckon he’s a good chance for an Ashes debut
Hi possibility which worries me, given that he doesn't exactly have a cast iron technique, so a Test class seamer or swingman will have him for breakfast. I think selectors have Patterson more in mind due to his multi years of experience batting in top 3.

That’s true, although he’s quite aggressive, so like Head he might still be fine. I honestly think good temperament and judgement is worth more than a perfect technique. We could use an aggressive opener with Uz.

He’s been doing it on spicy Hobart pitches so he’s doing something right.
