A FICTIONAL POSSIBILITY

In 2027 the US's economy was staggering due to the 10% inflation caused by Trump's tariffs. The world suffered too. Also the conflicts in the South China Sea were getting more intense with Phillipine, Australian, and US ships recently sinking aggressive Chinese assets there. The air waves now full of loud petulant Chiese rhetoric with disinformation, lies, threats and double threats.
With Trump's powerful influence he wanted Putin to keep Crimea and most of Ukraine's territories the Russians had captured. Trumpted the best ever"Peace Deal" ever, ever in all history, and was cheered by sweaty MAGA crowds rally in Miami.
Numbers were actually down due to all the now seemingly normal extreme weather events: hurricanes, extreme heat waves, tornados, heavy artic storms, freeze overs, powergrid failures, floods, droughts, constant wild fires, smog, pollution, ... yet the brave faithful endured donating parts of their meagre incomes to their holy POTUS. They the Faithful relied on their chosen one to keep them safe from the"Deep State" and the latest pandemic dear President Trump again blamed the Chinese for.. 'they eat cats and dogs ... , I love cuddly cats and dogs, don't we all, ..., eh, let's hear it for Cats and Dogs ...?'

Europe was still shell shocked by the very abrupt end to the war in Ukraine. The whole world was shocked by the massive and destructive hydrogen nuclear bombs that destroyed Moscow and a dozen other strategic Russian assets. The War was over in a day.

You have just covered this tall tall in one go mate. Lets hope it is fiction bar Russia being nuked as that means ordinary peace loving Russians were casualties. How about one tactical nuke on the Kremlin and Red Square while Putin and his most hardline hawkes were attending. Also send in special forces to disarm their nukes then conventionally bomb all their nuke sites, North Koreas too. Throw Myanmars generals into exile while they are about it.

The world was stunned, alarmed and panicked by this turn of events. Stock markets plunged. No one nor nation had claimed responsibility for the massive nuclear attack on Russia, nor had they prior knowledge of what had happened. Missile warnings and defense domes had simply not worked said defense analysts ?
Trump pointed the finger at China lacking any credible evidence other than his sour rhetoric..
A UN Emergency Council was formed hastily to investigate and assist the massive destruction in Russia. President Zelenski of Ukraine vehemently decried any suggestion that Ukraine was responsible in any way for the Nuclear attacks on the Russian homeland. He went on to ask for a cessation of hostilities from the Russian forces in exchange for Ukraine's help to aid Russia's recovery under the umbrellas of NATO and the UN. Tel Aviv was razed to the ground by a massive hydrogen bomb.
The predominately and large Jewish city was no more.
All gone, just a huge radioactive pit smouldering.

This staggering event shook the whole world. No one claimed responsibility for it but Trump soundly called out China to be behind this catastrophe in league with Iran and North Korea, and blamed them too for the destruction of Moscow.
President Trump continued in that vein until his transmission went dead. A giant northern hemisphefe storm had knocked out many transmissions. Two hours later Trump came back live to the air waves and described how he and Xi had had a wonderfully refreshing discussion about all that's happening.

"He's a great guy, you know, really wise and smart just like me, blah, blah. ... it's Aliens, you know, UFO's, crazy stuff, I'm putting the US's Space Force back on duty after Biden scrapped it. Best ever idea I had to save the planet and that senile old fool binned it.
It's all his fault if we all die, don't forget that."

Trump's US and European nations had sent aid to Israel but it was limited due to the storms, paranoia and suspicion growing, not knowing or seeing what was happening.
Many countries had shut down their borders and put their Armed forces on high alert.

In the midst of all these global tensions, weather extremes were causing great difficulty for most of the peoples and creatures on Earth. Waters were rising causing exodus from low lying Pacific and Indian Ocean Island nations. Generous nations, like Australia offered to let such climate refugees make Australia their new home.

All over the Earth were destructive floods, droughts, famine, storms, deep freezes, extreme temperature variations. With the Gulf stream diminishing in the north Atlantic Britain and other northern European nations were suffering from extreme cold and storms. That had at least slowed down Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine. A moot point now Russia was in an extreme state of chaos. it was assumed Putin and his cohorts were killed in the Moscow devastation. It was a nuclear bomb of such massive size no one could survive it.

Just thinking the migration of humans into the America's from Siberia long ago might make a good background for a Tall Tale? That occurred till the seas rose again. The new humans had to confront massive megafauna and other groups of humans.
Staying in the relativey fertile Western corridor of America they migrated southwards to south America.

So the Siberians were also Chinese descended too if they migrated to America across that land bridge. So ancient Siberians must be the same race as the Inuit, Chinese as some native American tribes had a distinct Chinese look. More so in Central and Sth American Indians.

Not sold on this for a story Terry. I had planned something alien on that sci fi forum. Reckon we'd have some takers there, one specially that told me.

Those from NE Russia that crossed the Berring land bridge gave rise to the Indian nations in the Americas. Their features reflect those of early immigrants from Asia as you mentioned.

How bout a remake of the original War of the Worlds but set in WA. We are the two scientists commissioned by the govt to destroy the Martian invader.

If so how about me as a Scientist, say a Dr Peter Spring working at the US's Pine Gap communications base just south of Alice, a big joint US/Aussie satellite surveillance base that sends Peter with his two assistants to investigate matters of interest. Mostly just security issues like with all the Cyber Shenanigans!

How does that sound Craig?

Good stuff Terry. You are also Digger Reeves a grizzled but wise prospector who alerts authorities about the landing of five alien craft in the remote Gibson Desert. I will be astro physicist Dr Richard Wellingham, my colleague is auburn haired beauty Dr Jenevieve Daseau we both work for the Australian Space Agency that operates in conjunction with Pine Gap. Once ASA and PG are notified about the alien landing they collaborate with Spring joining Wellingham and Daseau to investigate.

Digger Reeves has his home in Warburton but spends most of his time prospecting in the Gibson desert looking for gold and other metals. The desert is huge, barren and unforgiving. Reeves is a gnarly old veteran of the desert with gear, knowledge and a lifetime of experience coping with the harshest aspects of the Interior Gibson desert, and an old Army Veteran... now used to GPS he's mapping and recording his searches. Looking intuitively for patterns that often pay off.
A tough, intelligent part Aboriginal bloke with grandchildren and an ailing wife in Warburton.
His part Dingo Mongrel dog "Scud" is tough, loyal, quick, alert and very smart for a dog. Reeves' grandchildren love playing with Scud who loves their and his own games. Playful hide and seek, or hide an item mostly, but dancing on two legs to Digger Reeves playing his harmonica, just like he did in Vietnam as a young Aussie conscript a lifetime ago.
He's a licensed gun owner and drives a rugged and rigged out 4wd Toyota landcruiser with all the fruit. His wife and extended family drive his old Ford Falcon.
Considered an Aboriginal Elder in the region he has sway with its first nation's people.
