Hodge to Beauy not happening but I believe they did give it a crack with Hodge and Hewie good mates.
Bentleigh have appointed former St Kilda player Adam Ryan as 1st XI Captain (not coach). Chris Street is still the coach. Craig Sheedy is staying at Williamstown subbies.
Good blog this -...
I thought you posted on here yesterday Southern that you had heard the Kook's didn't fair too well and that a couple of "big name" players who had played with both in their day, prefferred the Platapus?
I think we all know what the VTCA will decide - whichever company writes them the biggest...
Well said Too Old. I too congratulate YCCC on their achievements, but when I heard this particular VTCA Senior Exec member say the same thing, I had to ask around to make sure I heard what I thought I heard! I also happen to know that many other people listening to this persons speech thought...
I can absoloutley gurantee and confirm that at the drinks break all Roach did was go the loo and ask how Bentleigh's Seconds were doing. There was no tantrum.
And as for you Who Wet The Wicket, I would concentrate on trying to repair the rabble that is your club before offering your opinion on...
Ok, a few things need to be said here. First of all, a great game of cricket between two great teams. There is no denying the quality of Yarraville and having won three in a row proves that. Secondly, I don't think anyone picked Bentleigh to be playing in the Senior Division final in their...
Ok then boys, lets get some tips from you all for the Senior Division flag. Bentleigh or Yarraville and please indicate why.
My tip (and probably no suprise to some) is Bentleigh. Why? Well with Roach still at the crease Bentleigh would have to (at this stage) be favourites to go on and post a...
I agree Northern. If the best wicket / ground / facilities happen to be at a teams ground who is playing in the final, surely they should play there. It makes no sense at all to play a Senior Division final at a ground that is not the best in that division.
I understand the VT's concern over...
Game of the Round for Round 10 Senior Division - Spotswood v Yarraville Club. Winner to take fourth position on the ladder and likely to stay in there. Another game to watch closely is Williamstown v Sth Caulfield with Willy by no means out of the race to finish in the four.
If we get on this...
Hi Fedor.
Good clubs around the Caulfield area so you would have a few to choose from. I like the look of Bentleigh who have been around for over 100 years and are currently on top of the table. They have some good name players and are good blokes off the field (enjoy a beer after the game)...
Too Old, I think that email was sent as a result of what we have been speaking about. If I was a Club at the lower end of the table I would be making all the enquiries I could as to the truth of this - especially given everyone else was forced to draw because they played by the rules.
Too Old - I too am suprised given the relationship of both the VT President to CY's and also the VT Secretary to Keilor - not that for one minute do I believe either of them knew of such an agreement between the two team, however I have since had feedback from my post that such an agreement did...
Now far be it from me to start a rumour, but I have heard that in the Senior Division match played on the reserve day of Keilor v Williamstown, the only reason this match got a result was because they started at 11am - agreed to by both teams (you'll see that all other Senior Division matches...
I know of a Club that got three different shades of cream and three different styles of playing shirt in the one order. The shirts are too short. Their one day tops are too long (players had to go and get them adjusted by a tailor), they were 8 weeks late in delivery (happen to know the VTCA...
Notice to all Clubs - stay away from Primary Edge clothing! Absolute crap! How the VTCA can endorse such a product is beyond me - oh hang on, they are getting something from it arn't they?
As I said Sniffin, just a rumor I had heard - cannot confirm that this is the case (ie: that a vote will be taken). As you'll see Sniffin, I also said that with the catch up day, no cricket had been missed (save for those teams who didn't play in Rd 2). Let's hope that the next two weeks we can...
Nice to see the ladder looking different than in previous years. Some new Clubs to the Division seems to be shaking things up a bit - still early days of course.
On another note, I hear on the grapevine that at the Presidents meeting in a couple of weeks, the VTCA will be looking for a vote on...
