I'm not that pessimistic.
They are playing well today, have WA 7/177 in their second innings. Declared this morning at 8/223, with Pietersen and Broad passing 50, the latter playing a solid rearguard action with Swann. It is fortunate England bat so deeply; it appears they still haven't solved...
Sangakarra won the toss and elected to bat, Sri Lanka are currently 3/27 in the 7th over. McKay is bowling beautifully, has taken all three scalps for one run between them. Hopefully this will help him get the nod over Siddle for the Gabba if Hilfenhaus is out of the equation.
Tharanga and...
Anybody interested in doing something like this? We did one last year for the the Australian team, it was a lot of fun - check out the thread if you're not sure what I'm talking about:

Well, the first tour match got underway today. WA posted a respectably sporting 8/242d., Robinson and Voges in the runs with 62 and 72 each. England finished the day on 1/10 with Cook bowled for 5 by Magoffin.
England's bowlers can take plenty positive from the first day's play, all showing...

Very frustrating to see Doherty get dropped after taking 4 wickets on debut and frankly being the only bowler on the night who looked like he was world class.
It showed this evening as well - not being able to take more than 3 wickets in 41 overs is simply unacceptable.
Just grim tonight, from the perspective of an Australian supporter. Doherty getting dropped after his excellent performance on Wednesday was completely bemusing, and it really showed in the Sri Lankan innings where Australia proved completely toothless when it came to taking wickets. Not only...
It does seem a big blow to the associates. They have got some great results in the World T20 in recent years and they seemed like they were finally getting competitive enough for the World Cup.
Nic Maddinson just played an excellent innings for NSW in SA in the latest Shield game.
NSW really has some good young talent at the moment. If a couple of the senior guys get called up to the Test squad this summer then we could see a few guys get opportunities.
As a New South Welshman, really psyched about this season. The young guys in the squad are really looking good, and even Moises Henriques looks like he might finally get his act together.
Nic Maddinson by all accounts played a beautiful innings against the Redbacks. I'll be interested to see...
I think that's a bit rough. He may not be known as a clutch player, but he's played his share of important innings. I can think of at least 4 matches in the last 12 months against Pakistan (Melbourne, Hobart, Leeds and Lords) where he's come in with the score under 100 and he's pretty much...
Okay, my bad - I was looking at his strike rate, not his average. However he's still clearly one of our top 3 batsman along with Katich and Watson - He's out-averaged Ponting for something like three years running.
I don't think he belongs in the T20 side either, and I have misgivings about his...
