Mine is about 9 meters back, 2 sideways when I bowl from over the wickets. Same as Graeme Swann's. Just get yourself a nice rhythm and build enough momentum. No run-up is too long or too short if you have success with it. I would suggest a short-ish run-up though, the faster you get through your...
Did he ever use the back of the hand slower ball? I haven't found many videos of fast bowlers that bowled it effectively. Is there footage on Yoube of a few great back of the hand slower balls, and who invented it?
Yes a fast bowler-spinner combination is very effective and used quite well at the international level. Unfortunately at my level fast bowlers bowl at least 3 wides an over in their quest to the 100 m/h mark, and barely manage 50 m/h:rolleyes: So most of the time I have to try and keep the score...
True, I never saw him playing but the things I've heard of him make me wish I had.
No one is going to convince me that that delivery really happened. It was just a camera angle, must have been. If it wasnt' I'll never be able to sleep again.
The problem with Smith's batting isn't that he isn't a good batsman. He is a great batsman! His style just makes him look like he is squared up every single ball even though he is totally in control. In my opinion he is the best at the moment, Imran Tahir is no longer a mystery bowler, the fact...
You have to practice bowling to left handers more than practicing your bowling to right handers. Left handers can be an incredible nuisance and any bowler that can remove irritating left handers swiftly deserves a spot in any team!
Personal milestone: 100 messages up:D Plenty more to come!

You don't need clean top spin so urgently. As...
Which two types of bowlers, in your opinion, are the most effective when used in tandem? The best combination I can possibly think of is a right arm leg spinner and a left arm chinaman bowling together:D
They turn the ball in opposite directions, bowl from different angles, are both attacking...
It's not meant to take wickets regularly. But if a batsman isn't getting out to you no matter what you try you have to use each of the combinations to find his weakness. I've taken 3 wickets this season (against number 1-4 batsmen) with my backspinning leg break which is admittedly a bit slower...
Who doesn't like Brett Lee? You've got to appreciate all the effort he put into bowling! He broke his back (among other things) just to give us some entertainment. (But I'm sure he enjoyed every minute of it)
In my opinion Mohhamad Amir of Pakistan was going to be one of the best fast bowlers...
I've had another look at it, and it's mostly a clean side spin googly. It hurts my shoulder a bit, even the flipper doesn't hurt my shoulder at all, so I'm not too sure about this ball. Probably good in the sense that it will increase my shoulder flexibility! That should make most other...
Works for me to. And I don't think Warne was thinking anything when he bowled. You have to do all the thinking before the delivery, and then bowl what you planned to bowl. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but the more you practice the less things go wrong. Every ball this season that I bowled...
:DI'll admit that I'm a spin fanatic, but still appreciate good fast bowlers...
Why no Steyn? He hasn't retired yet but I'd put him on the top of the list! He gets so pumped up when he bowls, and I can't think of any batsman in the world who isn't deep down afraid of him when he gets...
Thinking about anything while your bowling is like trying to throw water high up in the air and catching every drop in one hand. Physically impossible. Every motion and part of your action must flow rhythmically...
You can always practice doing this, go to an open space and have a friend...
Just remember what you saw in that video was his first attempt at bowling it. You would have said much worse things about Shane Warne's first attempts at the flipper!
Let me explain: He can't bowl a square spinning leg break, only an overspinning leg break with 45 degrees side spin. His...
Hello pace/seam/swing bowlers:) Left arm chinaman here, are there any of you that use the back of the hand slower ball as a permanent variation? If you do, does your's dip noticeably? I'm thinking of using the back of the hand slower ball as a replacement for the top spinner, but I need your...
