Great post but the overarching issue is the 8 team divisions. Currently 28 clubs which is literally the worst number as its too many for 3 divisions and not enough for 4.
How sustainable are all clubs? Is it worth some clubs entering their first 11 into B grade? Im not sure, but couldnt agree...
No thanks.
These blokes arent getting paid.
I would allow for at the most, two sundays a season, no more. You proposal would have at least 5 sundays. Cant see it being well recieved
This but with 8 team competitions. No way clubs are willing to play 27 days of cricket.
Its almsot impossible to get to grades of 8 teams though with the current structure.
There needs to be serious reform though.
6 teams for two spots. What a round coming up too!
Rosebank well and truly in the box seat to grab one of those spots now.
My predictions
Rosanna
Epping
Rosebank
Macleod
Fairly decent run to the finals with 4 teams on the same points.
North eltham look dangerous
Heidelberg have a really tough run home
Diamond creek have just had a great win, and have Banyule and Research to come
Rosebank still a bit of an unknown in my eyes, but have Banyule and Research to come
Just been having a good look through the fixtures. Something needs to happen and happen fast with this.
Rosebanks 2nd 11 going from D grade to Barclay
Eltham potentially the same next season
Plenty going from D grade to Money Shield
Macleod Barclay 2nd on ladder, 2nd XI near the bottom of C...
Hopefully this is the catalyst to change the season dates.
Should be maximum play everyone once in a season. Start the season either mid or late October.
9 rounds, all two day games, play a sunday if you have to and get on with it
Its actually madness starting the season so early.
Moving forward I would start it on the last weekend in October every year.
Get a bit of clear air between Footy and Cricket. Also allows ground some time to rejuvenate.
Cricket season is so so long.
