Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Zimmer to North Geelong from Manifold.
Lineker (the UK player) back to East Belmont, he played a few years ago, was a very good player.
Rod Kiddle a good chance to leave Leopold, most likely Grovedale but possibly not a done deal yet, others may be...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
agree or disagree there is no way that the GCA would stop playing two dayers as the finals are two dayers and as AB said the next step in your progression path is to be able to play 100 over cricket in the Premier Comp. They may at one stage go up to 100...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
I would hate for one to only play 2 one day games for the whole season to try and have a play each other once season. No draw is ever even with turf cricket, the conditions can be totally different each week. You could bat first one week on a damp wicket...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
season start late is due to the ICC World Cycling Championship the opening weekend of the season which means that their is going to be a fair bit of Geelong streets which are locked down from traffic which means it would make it hard for people to travel...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
Good call Rissole, that makes a lot of sense. Your side last year was very handy as long as you get your Pommie gun back on board to add that extra strength. Grunta Booley has been telling me he is going to have great delight in taking my leg stump out when...
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Don't think it was a rumour with Bush and Ty Watts as it was in the Addy, everything in the Addy is true !! Two past Presidents leaving the Hill, plus you would think a chance for maybe Nathan Watts to join also might see an exodus from the Hill. Thus the...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
I think we can end this discussion now as have spoken to the guys in question and although they had discussions with St Peter's in various formats they are very much aware that they are required players at South Barwon and are keen for a season of turf...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
I would have thought you's guys already have the correct leaders for the club cause you have been leading pretty well the last couple of seasons, so if you did not get a coach you have enough guys there at the club which could fill that role. You would...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
there is one Hambrook playing at St Peter's at the moment, obviously the other one is a target I suppose. Again I would be very surprised by a move by Utah !!
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
I think most clubs have been speaking with players since the season ended and at this stage as nothing is confirmed yet there is nothing to report.
In regards to the St Peter's playwer movements I would be very surprised if this was to take place. There...
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
How many clubs has that guy gone to, if this is the case ? That must mean there is going to be two assistant coaches at AT, as Lucas Benci already is taking on that role. Could be an assistant of the assistant !!
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
I would think Alf has gone past needing to coach the club and is just playing cricket cause he enjoys smacking the ball around still ! Ferg just does not seem to be the coaching type just yet, maybe down the track but not just yet.
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
ok, player from last year. So would have to rule out Alf, Fergy, Col. Other candidates would be Scowny but he has done it before, so would not think him. Really only leaves one remaining person. Sam Hall ??
Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
Hmmm, not sure why that would happen as there was no glaring issues throughout the season and Kelvin had his best year ever in Division One. Maybe a couple of months thinking it over may change minds. You are right also, plenty of time and effort to get...
