I have not been on this for years!
it certainly is an interesting discussion around the make up of the fixture, having been around the comp for a considerable time, the one dayers seem to suit a lot of cricketers in the comp. could there be a chance they will leave it this way? Anything is...
That's IF we get going. Rumour has it that the SECA MAY cancel tomorrow's play due to the heat & ALL grades play a 1-dayer next week. Seems a reasonable decision to me.....
Have heard this also, that would be typical SECA, why have rules in place then make it up as you go along. Not saying it...
Spot on uncle. Last time I checked there were no sheep stations involved in SECA cricket!! As for predictions pretty close to the mark, I think ch will get to see where there at This week playing the billionaires on the rebound. As for wooly from what I can see even dropping 2 sides out and...
Clocker right on the money, I suggested this back in Febuary. We have run out of enough quality teams to fill the top 2 grades, it would make every grade a better standard and would feed through into lower grades.
Great ideas guys, no doubt the 2 paid player system is flawed, you can't possibly police it. In saying that unless you are in high positions at individual clubs all the talk about who gets paid and who doesn't is all rumour and innuendo. A comment earlier about bucc paying the right blokes is...
Fantastic reading over the past few days, you have to commend some people for only looking at things through one eye. Having some experience in playing and administration levels of a CMCA club this is how I think things will unfold regardless of who is right or wrong:(very simaler to Clockers...
Interseting you brought up double promotion/ double relegation Uncle Mick. I am not a beliver in this but I am of the opinion that the CMCA needs to bite the bullet and make Longmuir and Woolnough 10 team comps. The bottom few teams in Woolnough make up the numbers every year and lets be honest...
For whats its worth, I have a feeling that Carnegie south are a big show to make the grand final, even though their batting is hit or miss, they arguably have the best bowling attack in the comp and will have hopefully learnt alot from their finals debarkle last year. Even though ANA have had a...
I will through something up for debate. Uncle Mick spot on about Omega. It helps them that they have 3 or 4 players that have played alot of Longmuir finals cricket in the past few years. Cant see them getting beaten. How do you think they might travel in longy considering how teams have fared...
Uncle Mick, you are missing the picture, as stated in the rules you are only able to pay 2 players, therefore I will make the following points;
1. Your mail is wrong
2. One of Lalor or Russell have either left or not getting paid
3. Luke has gone for no payment:cool:
All this talk about changing the finals system is unwarranted, only last year did the teams who won the flags in the top 3 grades had the week off. You have to remember you cant win the grand final from 3rd, you have to be in it to win it and i'm sure every club would rather win the second semi...
Very thorough Uncle, where do you find the time?
Tips Uniting to win (I think Jimmy is on the money re: buckets taking to the east attack) and Sharks to beat Manders (he is due to fail!!!)
Nice work clock, you have just narrowed it down to 7-8 longy clubs. Could you be fishing???
Where are all the previews this week? I will give you my two bobs worth, the spiders to bounce back, they have had too good a year to be knocked out in straight sets, their batting does worry me as proven...
No point worrying about home finals guys, knowing people in the know @ West Bentleigh in all the years they were in finals in wooly and longy they never once played a home final and they played finals 7 or 8 years in a row. Apparently you need a fence!!! Carnegie's ground is much the same as...
