Bowling
In 2005 Australia made a decision that hurt Australian cricket for many years and that was poaching Troy Cooley from England and appointing him as Bowling coach after we lost the ashes. For some reason we though it was his coaching that lost us that series when all it was was poor...
We've just got a look at what our ODI side is going to look at and the selectors
have predictably gone with an old side. They've learnt nothing from the test
series and previous ODI games.
We're persisting with guys like David
Hussey, Haddin, Lee, Bollinger and White who hasn't made runs...
I've Seen enough of what we have to offer and first thing Australia need to do is drop the
following players:
Hughes - Is a number 5 batsmen. No defence or technique = not an opener or top 4.
Ponting - He's finished and too old for the rebuild mould and can't score. Is not picking the ball up...
On more thinking of our Situation I think we have only one direction to go and prehaps build a young but smaller squad with a few old reliable players in it like Hussey and Harris for a year or so but it wont happen while Hilditch is there IMO. Chappel maybe.
Ponting has to go. Hussey, while...
Ricky Ponting's finished. He doesn't have it any more. It's time for him to retire and if he won't go time to get dropped. Clarke is not a super star and never was. He's not a ponting, Langer, Hayden, Gilchrist. He averages 48 which is pretty good but not great and most of that was made in...
I recon Katich would make a great captain, already has expierence with the job for NSW.
Harris is the best bowler in Australia and should lead the attack.
O'Keefe and Smith would be a good bowling pair as Authodox and wrist spin are nothing alike. Probably get better spin bowling partnerships...
Well we are now two games behind in the Ashes and have nothing to lose. We're losing with an old side and when that's happening the only way to go is down. We must refresh the team.
Here's a list of good young players in Australian Cricket:
Best Young Batsmen (2011 Average, Career Average...
These players must be considered for selection
Marsh - When he's fit he scores runs.
Khawaja - Great early form but needs to keep making runs.
Blizzard - averages nearly 60 in FC cricket and is making plenty of runs this year.
Robinson - Is opening for WA and making some handy scores...
I think there's a lack of belief and courage by the Australian players. Bowlers
too afraid to pitch it up full and straight beacuse they are afraid of going for
runs and bang it in too short and end up going for runs any way.
Either
this or poor captaincy and/or poor coaching.
I don't think...
Johnson - Got wickets early on from his
pace and a hell of a lot of luck because batsmen would have a got at his wide
shit and nick it. Now the luck's gone and batsmen have him worked out.
He can't stand the seam up which means he can't swing it or seeam it off
the wicket. He's slowed his...
This is some of the evidence of problems with the head and selectors of Australian cricket
Since 2005 we have:
1. Hung onto players who were obviously well past it like
Martyn, Hayden and Mike Hussey.
2. Played guys who don't have form or are
poor players like Hauritz, Johnson, and North.
3...
The aquad is a bit of a joke. It's only a group who train together when you are at home. Any one can come into the Aus side. McDonlad and O'Keefe should be in the squad but they weren't but they can still be called up.
Is the problem with the Australian Bowling Coach.
Is this where the problem lies? I think it was 2005 when we poached England's
bowling coach after we lost the Ashes there. This was the wrong move because A
England used sugar lollies to assist in reverse swing which is illegal; we lost...
The Test Side will be:
1. Watson - going ok, our best bowler and making runs but still goes out to his own brain fades.
2. Katich - steadies the ship. Plays slow and steady and is hard to get out. Good player. Needs to bowl more.
3. Ponting - Needs to learn to keep his pull shots on the...
The Australian selectors are hopeless and too stupid and gutless
to make changes. You can't lose as many international matches and lose them so
convincingly as we have without some serious changes being made. You can't just
sit back and take beatings like we are with players doing well at...
Lip86 - Good point but I'm talking about the current side and the willingness not to let go of the past. It would be fair enough if there weren't guys at state level tearing it up but there are. i think there are better players who could take us into another dynasty at state level. Old guys...
I believe we will go unchanged. North, Clarke, Hussey will do nothing. Haddin might come back in and drop catches and make runs only when the side is going well. Johnson will have matches where he is ok and where he gets slaughtered. Hauritz may do ok or he may get smashed but he wont tear...
