1st ODI: India v Pakistan at Guwahati

Kamran Akmal falls for 12 off 30 LBW to Pathan. Pakistan are 1/44 off 10.1 overs. Salman Butt is on 30 not out off 31 balls.

Pakistan finished up on 7/239. Opener Kamran Akmal was the first to go for 12 off 30 when the score was on 44. Salman Butt then fell for 50 off 57 when he was run out by Yuvraj Singh when the score was 69. Mohammad Younis was then caught by Pathan off the bowling of Harbhajan Singh for 25 off 58. Afridi and Yousuf then had a 61 run partnership before Afridi fell for 31 off 32 balls. Malik then fell for 2 off 8 and Misbah-ul-Haq fell for 27off 26. Mohammad Yousuf was the star finishing on on 83 not out off 88 balls. Abdur Rehman was run out on the last ball of the innings for a Golden Duc.

For the Indians Tendulkar took 2 wickets and Kahn, Harbhajan and Pathan each took 1. The best of the bowlers were the spinners Harbhajan and Khartik. Harbhjan went at 2.9 per over and Khartik went for 3.6. This was in direct contrast to the pace bowlers who all went for more than 5 per over. This suggests the pitch is very slow and favours the spinners. I'd say 239 will be a competitive score even though it doesn't sound like much.

Akhtar gets the breakthrough. Tendulkar gone LBW for 4 off 7. India are now 1/14 off 2.5 overs.

Ghambir just dropped twice on 7 and 11. India are now 1/39 off 6.5 overs. Ganguly is on 14 and Ghambir is on 15.

Ganguly run out for 39 off 55 balls. India 2/100 off 17 overs. India now require 140 runs off 198 balls.

Ghambir falls for 44 off 51 bowled by Afridi. India are now 3/111 requiring 127 runs off 174 balls. He should of been out for 7. That's cost them 37 runs.

Yuvraj Singh is out caught Afridi bowled Rehman for 58 runs off 74 balls. India now require 22 off 42 balls with 6 wickets in hand.

Dhoni gets caught behind off the bowling of Akhtar for 63 off 77. India now require just 14 runs off 33 balls with 5 wickets in hand.

India won by 5 wickets with 18 balls to spare. Uthappa made 11 off 11 and Pathan got 5 off 8. The spinners were once again the major factors in this innings with the pace bowlers getting smacked. Had Pakistan not dropped Ghambir the innings may have been totally different. India lead the 5-match series 1-0.

Looks like you guys completely missed the 2nd ODI at Mohali. It was an incredibly good match, unfortunately the result didn't go India's way even after batting so good first. Pakistan won with 1 ball to spare in a thriller, and my kudos to them, even though my team lost.
