Re: 1st ODI: Netherlands v Bermuda at Rotterdam

Not looking good for Bermuda at the moment.

Netherlands made 8/315 from their 50 overs. Tom de Grooth scored 97 runs and was unlucky not to get his century. Kerveezee made 62 with Mudassar Bukhari making 60. Ryan ten Doeschate contributed 36.

Dwayne "the rock" Leverock was the best of the bowlers finishing with figues of 3/58. Irving Romaine chipped in with 2/27. Bermuda used eight bowlers today, suggesting their bowlers struggled a bit. The Netherlands batsmen made it hard for any of the bowlers to get much rhythm although Ryan Steede was very economical with 1/35 from his 10 overs.

So far, Bermuda are in a little bit of trouble. They sit at 3/58 after 14 overs with Lionel Cann just being dismissed.

The rest of the batters will need to pick up the run-rate here as the required rate has already passed seven runs per over.

Re: 1st ODI: Netherlands v Bermuda at Rotterdam

Well, Bermuda have tried hard but it looks as if they will fall short here.

Debutant Celestine started to slog as he and Stephen Outerbridge brought the required rate back to seven runs an over. Celestine was just dismissed and you'd think Bermuda's hopes of winning went with his dismissal.

4/100 now and Bermuda haven't scored a run for 2.2 overs. Already, the required run rate has gone out to almost 8 now.

Re: 1st ODI: Netherlands v Bermuda at Rotterdam

This game is all but over. We're in junk time now with Bermuda sitting at 8/132 after 35 overs. Outerbridge didn't last too much longer after Celestine's dismissal and the wickets have steadily fallen from there on in. Pietar Seelaar found himself on a hat-trick after Robinson and Pitcher fell in consecutive balls.

Dwayne Leverock has battled hard and is 12 not out. The required run rate is up to 12.3 runs an over, they won't get near that.

All over for the Islanders. ten Doeschate takes two wickets in two balls to end the Bermudian resistence.

Bermuda all out for 143, miles short of the target score. Leverock finishes not on 13 with ten Doeschate and Seelaar taking three wickets each.

At the finish, Netherlands won by 172 runs.

The second game of the series is on Monday.
