23/24 SHIELD thread.

Junior Ashes batting prodigy Sam Konstas' enormous appetite for scoring runs in Club, Seconds red ball cricket has proven too irresistible for selectors to ignore, with the 18 year old chosen to make his Shield debut for the Blues. That is provided he makes the final X1 and the thunderstorms predicted this week stay away..

Konstas has debuted. Be a huge moment for the teen prodigy when he puts on his Baggy Blue then steps onto the famed SCG . Have to say tho, a huge call to bat him at #3.

Overcast in Sydney, a greenish seamer, will test a technique.

Neil-Smith too good for Nikitaris and Hackney. His opening spell 6 - 4 - 2/5
Best ever figures 7/58 for LNS..how many unplayables did he bowl.

Jhye Richardson finally returns to the Warriors attack, Cameron Green is also back but Joel Paris is missing? Also a couple of new faces with selectors wielding the axe. Have seen some of Joel Curtis in Seconds.

A bombshell this morning that selectors are contemplating replacing Warner with Marnus Labuchagne for the Windies series to accommodate Cameron Green for a middle order spot! This has merit as Marnus has often virtually opened in the past batting first drop, has the technique to handle the new red cherry. The move also means Steve Smith will revert to #3 where he has played his best cricket and Green to #4, where he averages about @40.
