2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Bangladesh won the first ODI in this 4 match series, and Zimbabwe will need to win today if they are to have any hope of winning this series.

Once again, it looks like coverage will be minimal for this match.
For a while yesterday, it looked like Bangladesh tv might be able to cover it, but apparently those plans fell through.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Bangladesh batting first and having a really tough time of it.
They were 4-2 after 2 overs.
Then they were 51-5 after 17 overs.
The next update was 73-6.

The latest update is 82-7.

This isn't going to be a high-scoring match.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

97-7 after 38 overs! At least Bangladesh will reach triple digits.
Talk about low-scoring though.

The latest we've heard is 107-7 after 41.

It'd be great if they could reach 150. That might turn out to be a decent target on this pitch.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Bangladesh now 138-8 after 43.4 overs.

They're picking up some significant runs here at the end.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Bangladesh all out for 154 after 46 overs.

Now we'll see how the Zimbabwean batsmen perform on this pitch.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Slow but steady start for Zimbabwe, 0/19 after 6 overs.

Earlier, the Zimbabwe bowlers destryoed the Bangladesh batting order. Gary Brent picked up 4/30 of his allotted 10 overs with Sean Williams taking 3/23. Opening bowler Chris Mpofu was effective once again with 2/26.

Mohammad Rafique was the only decent contributor with 40 runs, albeit from number 9 in the order, showing just how much trouble Bangladesh were in. Mashfiqur Rahim also chipped in with 27 runs.

Will be a close game that's for sure. This pitch must have a few demons in it.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Zimbabwe up to 0/75 after 17 overs.

Vusi Sibanda up to 41 from 60 balls.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Zimbabwe making Bangladesh look second rate here.

2/147 after 33 overs.

Duffin was run out and Masakadza was caught and bowled by Saqibul Hasan. Vusi Sibanda has raced to 83 off 60 balls with 4 fours and a six.

Fair to say that Bangladesh have batted and bowled poorly today.

Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe v Bangladesh

Wow, what a blowout! Sibanda finished with 93.
Zimbabwe won 156-2 after 35.2 overs.
They still had 8 wickets in hand and they did it with 15 overs to spare.

Bangladesh are going to have to sit down and figure out what went wrong before the next ODI.
