Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe vs South Africa at Harare Sports Club
Taylor and Taibu have both fallen since Jolldo's opening post.
Zimbabwe sit at 4/154 after 36 overs. Taylor fell to Dale Steyn for 44 with Taibu being dismissed earlier for a score of 43. Albie Morkel took the wicket of Taibu.
Zimbabwe determined to make a game of it, perhaps this series is a sign of things to come. That will be a big positive for Zimbabwe cricket.
Re: 2nd ODI: Zimbabwe vs South Africa at Harare Sports Club
It was good but it was nowhere near enough.
Sean Willimas top scored for Zimbabwe with 54. Staurt Matsikenyeri had a knock of 52.
Dale Steyn was the best South African bowler with 3/65.
In reply, South Africa cruised to 2/251 off just 39.1 overs. The Proteas didn't lose a wicket till the 29th over with Graeme Smith was caught behind for 96. Herchelle Gibbs made a fine century, taking exactly 100 balls for his total of 111. But Gibbs fell late in the innings with only a handful of runs needed. Jean-Paul Duminy then finished things off with 24 not out.
Sean Williams and Prosper Utseya took one wicket each.
A dominant performance by South Africa after a fighting effort from Zimbabwe. They are doing a lot better than everyone expected and even though they trail the series 2-0, they've given the South Africans more trouble than they bargained for.
Man of the Match was Herschelle Gibbs.
The final game of the series is tomorrow at Harare.
