2nd Test: New Zealand vs Bangladesh at Wellington

Same old Bangladesh story again, a carbon copy of what has happened on this tour quite a few times now. New Zealand sent bangladesh in and bowled them out for another paltry total and in reply, New Zealand have almost passed their score inside the first day.

Bangladesh were bowled out for 143, the captain, Mohammad Ashraful was the only batter above 30, with 35 runs.

The main destroyer with Chris Martin with 5/64. Iain O'Brien took 3/34, to considerably lower his bowling average (it was well over 100 when this series started).

In reply, New Zealand are 3/134, nine short of Bangladesh's effort. Carig Cumming made a solid start with 42, but was out LBW to Shakib al Hasan. The hero from last game, Matthew Bell only made one while Stephen Fleming is 39 not out.

Another day in control for NZ, once again, Bangladesh failing to put a decent score on the board, they were only good enough to last 45.3 overs, that's not even as long as a 50-over ODI game. NZ will be pleased with their efforts and like South Africa in the other match, they will be looking to pile on the runs during Day 2.

Re: 2nd Test: New Zealand vs Bangladesh at Wellington

New Zealand were all out for 393, Fleming made it to 87 and Vettori scored 94 batting at number eight. Matt Sinaclar scored 47.

Shahdat Hossain was the best bowler for the Tigers, taking 3/83. Aftab Ahmed, Shakid al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza all took two wickets each.

This left Bangladesh with a deficit of 250 runs on first innings and left them a 22-over period for them to face out before the safety of stumps. Once again however, the Tigers folded and New Zelanad have a vice like grip on the game.

Bangladesh were 5/51 at stumps, still 199 runs behind New Zealand's score. Habibul Bashar is the only batsman above 20 and has 21 not out. Kyle Mills is the multiple wicket-taker for NZ with two wickets.

This game will almost certainly be over tomorrow, Bangladesh have once again shown little fight and the Kiwis have punsihed them severely. The Tigers are really struggling with the bat, something they will need to rectify very soon.

Re: 2nd Test: New Zealand vs Bangladesh at Wellington

Bangladesh were bowled out for 113, just before lunch. Shakib al Hasan made 41 not out and was stranded at the end. Tamim Iqbal didn;t bat due to being sick with the flu.

Martin, O'Brien, Oram and Mills all picked up two wickets for the kiwis, the other wicket was a run out.

An easy win for New Zealand and they have now clean swept the series 2-0 after winning the one-dayers 3-0. They won by an innings and 137 runs in the end, a very, very comfortable victory.

Daniel Vettori was named Man of the Match.

No-one really gets anything out of playing Bangladesh. I honestly believe that playing them is a waste of time.

They've been on the test scene for eight years but still haven't shown any sort of improvement whatsoever. I can't imagine how they will go against Australia during the top end series in July.

yeah no improvement to be shown, maybe they should enter a team in the english county league?

how do you reckon they would go in there?

They'd go close to winning it to be honest, the English county league isn't that strong although the stronger sides would give them a run for their money.

Bangladesh need to go away and hone their skills, this could be done by playing the associate countries (Ireland, Scotland, Zimbabwe) and focus on proving that they are better than them and deserve to be at test level. At the moment, they are doing nothing to suggest they are capable of being a test nation.

At the moment, they are wasting everyone's times through their sheer uncompetitiveness against the lower and middle ranked sides such as New Zealand. New Zealand belted them in the one-dayers and the tests, the better sides such as Australia, South Africa and India will only cause further pain.

yes, i agree with you there it would be alot better compition for them if they played the likes of scottland, ireland and zimbabwe.

i guess it doesnt help that there nation isnt a very wealthy one and they can not set up a accademy of cricket like other countrys can.
