A Year of Scottish Cricket: T20 Champions, Season Round-up and Rugby!!
Well, here goes...
I play for my school and my club and at the start of the season I was expecting to play in the 2nd XIs for each but, as it stands, I've been picked for both set of 1st XIs which is surprising. I've been pleased with my early season pace and consistency, both of which have improved from last year, but I'm yet to be tested in a fully competetive match.
We've had two fixtures for school and one for the club rained off so far, meaning my only 'proper' cricket has been a 40 over friendly for my club seconds against a team 2 divisions above us (the div below our 1st XI). We were hammered and I made a duck but bowled a tight opening spell of 5-1-9-0, so all in all it wasn't too bad but there are things to work on before the first league fixture.
If all goes well, it'll be my first match for the school 1st XI tomorrow and my first match for the club 1st XI on saturday but I wouldn't put too much faith in the weather!!

My final figures were 5-0-30-1, which is a bit more expensive than I would have liked but not too shabby either. To cut a long story short, we passed the target 6 down before I got a chance to bat. All in all, not a bad day out and it was rounded off by being told that I had been picked to play against the MCC in the school's annual match against them. Very much looking forward to that next week and the match on Saturday, fingers crossed the weather holds
