ACC Premier League: UAE v Nepal, Nov 4-6

This is the big match between the two best teams in the tournament. Whoever wins this should win the whole thing.

Here's an interesting development:

Mehboob Alam denied visa

The UAE has not allowed one of Nepal's players to enter the country.
I guess that's always one way to swing the match in your favor.

Nepal won the toss and chose to field.

UAE declared after 81 overs at 262/7.
Arshad Ali was top scorer with 137.
Sanjam Regmi took 3/63 for Nepal. Basanta Regmi was 2/36.

Nepal is 63/3 after 28 overs in reply.

CricketEurope has the score listed as
UAE 265-7 dec (81 overs)
Nepal 63-3 (28 overs)

but whatever UAE's total was, they definitely seemed to have the best of it on Day 1.

By the way, heading into this match, the standings looked like this:

Code:
Team P W L D Batting Bowling Total Points
Singapore 2 1 1 0 14.5 18 46.5
Nepal 1 1 0 0 8 10 32

U.A.E. 0 0 0 0 0 0 0

After Day 1, it looks like UAE picked up 5.5 points, and Nepal picked up 4.5 points.

In the other match, Malaysia has picked up 9 points so far, and Hong Kong has picked up 12.5.

Lunch on Day 2, Nepal is 142/8.

Not so great for Nepal, they still trail by 120 runs.

Re: ACC Premier League: UAE v Nepal, Nov 4-6

Nepal all out for 155.

UAE have begun their second innings and so far they're 30/2.

Re: ACC Premier League: UAE v Nepal, Nov 4-6

Fantastic bowling from Nepal in UAE's second innings. They bowled them out for 97!

That means Nepal have a target of 205 to win this match.

Day 2 has ended with Nepal at 33/2 after 18.4 overs. So they still need 172 more runs. The good news is that they have all day to achieve that total, so they can bat as slowly as they want.

UAE 262/7d & 97
Nepal 155 & 33/2

Re: ACC Premier League: UAE v Nepal, Nov 4-6

Nepal bowled out for 107. UAE wins by 97 runs.
What a typically mediocre performance from Nepal's batsmen.

This puts UAE firmly in the driver's seat in this competition.
Current standings after UAE's win here and the rained out finish from Malaysia:

Code:
Team P W L D Batting Bowling Total Points
Singapore 2 1 1 0 14.5 18 46.5
Nepal 2 1 1 0 13 18.5 45.5
Malaysia 2 1 0 1 17.5 13 44.5
Hong Kong 3 0 2 1 18.5 26 44.5
U.A.E. 1 1 0 0 6.5 10 30.5

Let's see how close I am when the ACC updates their standings.
