yes he will.

Maybe not,

Stuart MacGill is undecided whether to quit state cricket and make way for a younger generation of spinners, however he does believe Australia's slow-bowling stocks are already strong enough to cope with his departure from the Test scene. MacGill thinks Beau Casson is so ready for international cricket that a five-wicket haul is possible if he makes his debut in the third Test in Barbados on Thursday.

Victoria have announced their squad

Cricket Australia contracts:

Cameron White (C), Brad Hodge, David Hussey

Full contracts:

Aiden Blizzard, Adam Crosthwaite, Aaron Finch, Shane Harwood, John Hastings, Nick Jewell, Lloyd Mash, Andrew McDonald, Bryce McGain, Clinton McKay, Dirk Nannes, Darren Pattinson, James Pattinson, Rob Quiney, Chris Rogers, Peter Siddle, Matthew Wade, Damien Wright

Rookie contracts:

Brett Forsyth, Steve Gilmour, Michael Hill, Jon Holland, Kumar Sarna

Re: Australian domestic movements

James Pattinson quick rise through the ranks to a full contract, just 18 or not even.

Holland on a rookie, hopefully he has recovered from the injury that put him out last year

Re: Australian domestic movements

Gilmour? He is Ringwoods 4th bowler - there were 25+ bowlers who took more wickets than him last year! And Michael Beer was overlooked for Holland? Unbelievable!

Harwood is finished. Nannes will be in for him. Jewell should definitely be given the first crack at opening.

Tatenda Taibu is going to be playing for northcote as far as i am aware.

I doubt he will get a game for the vics straight away. Good batsman but not awesome, keeping is okay but not awesome. Let him play for northcote and then see what he has to offer

Re: Australian domestic movements

4 Day
Rogers, Jewell, Hodge, Hussey, White, McDonald, Crossy, Wright, Nannes, Siddle, McGain, Blizz (12th Man)

Taibu would have to be the Vics No.1 keeper.....and he couldn't be a worse bloke than Wade!
If any cricketer is a poorer bloke than Wade, then you really are lower than scum. I don't think Taibu or anyone for that matter could be a poorer guy than "Wadey".:D:p

Matthew Elliott comes to mind, although i've never met either, just heard stories.

Re: Australian domestic movements

On the domestic scene, does anyone know when the fixture comes out? I saw a news article 3 weeks ago with some of the main points in the fixture so it must be close?

Well I've never met Matthew Elliott, but from someone who hasn't, it's a bit of a surprise to hear that considering the fact that when he retired last season, everyone was saying he was one of the greatest guys you'll ever meet, a real nice guy. But you just don't know.
I know Matthew Wade well enough, for 5 years in fact I have, and I can tell you now mate, if I have children one day, I wouldn't want him anywhere near them. And I also hope he doesn't end up being their favourite cricketer.

Not sure mate, but I reckon one certainty, as it has been the same for my entire lifetime it seems, is that Tasmania will play Queensland in Brisbane in about October, for their 1st fixture, in both Pura Cup and Ford Ranger Cup. Maybe a radical change could be the Twenty20 comp, we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Australian domestic movements

Yep and we got the redbacks again :D

The Pura Cup is due to begin on October 10 with matches between Queensland and Tasmania and the Warriors and the Blues

But other than that and the addition of T20 to Boxing day not much else was revealed, that was a month ago

Also said Fox Sports is covering less FRC games and more T20

that was always going to happen, short sharp and foxsports can just put on other rubbish sports to cover the slots

Of course going on normal Fox Sports coverage, of the 9 games they dont cover, about 5 will be Victorian games, probably most our interstate ones
