I expect some of the emerging WA, TAS and SA cricketers to be the best performed over their senior careers. If they are given the same chances as the big three states of NSW, VIC and QLD. Again they have dominated this list..

Australia off to a flyer with a big win over the hosts.

A good win by Australia, Wyllie scored an unbeaten 86 not out to lead Australia to Victory. Whitney took three wickets in a very good bowling display with Radhakrishnan picked up three wickets bowling both left and right arm off-spin. Sri Lanka also beat a spirited Scotland in the other Group D game.

Backed up what he preached. Anchored the boys home. There will be some nongs saying that is his 86 from 129 balls was too slow.

While bowling with different arms is unique and quirky but is it going to get the kid more wickets. Now if he was able to bowl both finger and wrist spin then that is something else.

His innings was fine, just what was needed to keep the side going and get to the target,. The pitch wasn't that easy to bat on so can't fault the innings he put together.

It's certainly unique and gives him and the side a lot of flexibility during a game. Not sure whether it will be something he'll be able to persist with though should he get to the higher levels of cricket within the country.

Australia's inherent poor spin play has put our u19 boys in some strife, now needing to win their last pool game to reach the next round.

Does CA still send our 16/17s to play in local comps in the sub continent. That was a practical policy to improve the spin play of our best juniors. But has it had the desired affect. CA also built Indian -like practice decks at the Cricket Academy and hold (or held) annual spin camps. So why are we not turning our competent players of spin in red ball cricket.

Teague Wyllie's chanceless ton powered the boys to a big win over Scotland. Support by Aidan Cahill (72). We need Sri Lanka to win against Windies to go thru to the major rounds.

These matches are supposed to be televised by FoxCricket. Dont see anything on any of their channels.

Another great innings by Wyllie to power the team to victory and in relatively quick time too. Scotland batted pretty well I thought in their innings but Australia were too good with the bat and chased down the total comfortably.

Have to rely on Sri Lanka beating West Indies tonight for the U19 side to progress.

I've recently got Kayo and they are telecasting one game per night, usually the same game as the ESPNcricinfo text commentary game. Tonight it's South Africa vs Ireland which is also the ESPNcricinfo text commentary match.

The matches are being telecast by the ICC according to its website. The Aussie/Scots game was supposed to have been one with FoxCricket taking the world wide live feed. Really like to see that Wyllie 100 in its totality instead of a two minute hilites clip. You also have to pay if you wanna watch the ICC match from its website. Money hungry b/tards.

The Lankans pulled off a three wicket win knocking the hosts out of the tournament, meaning Australia goes on. We will likely meet Pakistan in the Super League quarters on Jan 28.

ICC would own the rights yes, Fox/Kayo telecasting one match per night and this is usually the ESPNcricinfo commentary game. South Africa vs England is on now.

Australia play Pakistan on Friday in Quarter Final Three at North Sound.

Sri Lanka did us a favour in their game against West Indies. It got fairly close but Sri Lanka managed to get home.

Aussie boys thrash Pakistan to take us into the semis. Leading the way for the boys once again was Teague Whyllie (71) with good support from Corey Miller (64) and Campbell Kellaway (41). Then the bowlers combined to rout the Pakistanis for a 119 run win. We now have good momentum as we head into the semi clash with either defending champs Bangladesh or India.

Bangladesh all out for 111 against India in the quarter final, India would be heavy favourites to go through from here.

India were too strong against the Aussies to put us out of running to win the tournament. This meant there was A third place play off between us and the Lankans, which we won overnite to finish as the tournament runner up.

While Cooper Connolly had a series to forget.. the stand outs have been Wyllie, Kellaway, Saltzman and Nivethan. The latter with a strong double of 66 runs and 3 wickets in the play off match. Tomorrow India and England decide the new Under19 world champions.

Good to get the win over Afghanistan to claim third place in the tournament. Wyllie clearly Australia's best player in the tournament for mine with Radhakrishnan and Salzmann also having good tournaments.

Connolly had a disappointing tournament with the bat and was passable with the ball. Will be interesting to see who can pickup a state contract come the end of domestic season once recontracting begins for the 2022/2023 season.

I'd be surprised if Wyllie was not offered a contract for 2022/23, it'll be a rookie contract at a minimum and he'll be a replacement for Shaun Marsh once he decides to retire should he bat at number three, it's possible he may even open for WA if an opportunity presents itself. Wyllie's performances in Second XI cricket this season as well as a decent first grade record and a very good U19 World Cup should ensure he receives a WA contract.

Connolly has some work to do, hopefully he can go back to first grade cricket and work on his game. A spin bowling all-rounder would certainly be handy for the state going forward should he secure a contract in the future.
