Australian's in Doubt

Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson and Stuart Clark have not left with the rest of the team

Watson currently has a hamstring injury, Ponting has cited family reasons and Clark's son is ill. I'm not sure wether these players will play but they will certainly miss out on some training.

Does anyone know who will come into the squad if these players need to be replaced?

I'd say Cam White would come into the squad if Shane Watson was unable to play. Ben Hilfenhaus would replace Staurt Clark.

Unsure of who would be there in place of Ponting.

They should all play though. Only a small chance that one of them won't play. If anyone is to pull out, I'd say it'd be Watson, he has a very dodgy body at times.

Cameron White with his power hitting style is so suited to this game and can can bowl a bit, must be a given?

You'd think so.

I am not a fan of Cameron White though, I feel he is over-rated. White is a powerful batsman and a great fielder but his bowling is ordinary at best and he bowls his fair share of pies.

Many classify him as an all-rounder which is perhaps misleading. He is a batter who can bowl maybe three or four overs in a one-day game if required.

Re: Australian's in Doubt

i am now pretty sure all three of these guys will be available for selection come game one of the tournament.
