Batting Gloves

I live in the US and am trying to ship a pair of batting gloves before the season begins. I was wondering if there is any way I can find the size best suited for my hands before I order them and find them ill-fitting.

Generally sizes they are what they are. If you're under 10 go for boys. Between 11 and 14 then Youths should be fine. Beyond that you're into a mens size. If you have really small hands you might get away with a small mens but not sure which companies still do them (pretty much replaced by youths).

Unless you're buying custom gloves or ones from Areo then that is pretty much it when it comes to gloves. They tend to be very generic sizes with a 'one size fits all' mentally. There is a sizing guide here - http://www.owzat-cricket.co.uk/size_guide/size_guide.htm but as its not an exact science by any stretch of the imagination.

Thanks Richard. Problem is that a couple of times I batted with men's sized gloves in our team kit, I found the fit extremely uncomfortable.(fingers felt cramped) on the other hand some of the others suited me much better. Going by that chart, I should go for large men's but haven't found such a size online. I guess I don't have a choice other than to ask someone else to ship a pair from one of the cricket playing nations.

This place is located in the US and have large mens in stock on certain gloves - http://www.cricketequipmentusa.com/products/ignite-assassin-batting-glove-by-gray-nicolls-145.aspx. Choice is limited but it may do the trick. They're located in Duluth, GA so might be easier than dealing with overseas.

Also they are offering a 15% discount if you use the code CWCUP211 at check out.

The other option is to go for a pair of gloves from Aero as they are more fitted. Very good gloves and offer excellent protection at all levels. Downside is they look a little different from standard. http://www.aerocricket.com/equipment/p1-batting/p1-hands.html

Thanks a lot Richard. I've looked up the Ignite gloves you've linked to and they seem to be a nice pair. I will place an order shortly and hope that they fit me right.

I've used Gray Nicholls for a long time and they've always been more than adequate. One duff bat out of about 15. Gloves and pads have always been fine.
