Batting technique

Hey everyone,

just took a few clips of me practicing my batting in my back yard doing so foward defensives. Could some please have a look at the vid and tell me if there is any problems with my technique. I know its nothing flash, but its what i do every day and i couldnt be bothered to go down to the nets.

And i have attached a photo of my stance, so if anyone wants to offer any pointers on changing it if its nedded, it will be very welcome.

heres the link for the batting

Re: Batting technique

The first thing that really hits me is your head. It is hard to see your set up when batting with a 'sock ball' but looking at the ground as you hit the ball provides you with little follow up action; you cannot see where the ball is going. You need to react quickly but you would not know whether to run or protect yourself [which you would need to do as you slide your back foot over the 'crease' far too often]. You cannot rely on your batting partner to tell you.

Correct these two points and then post another video for us to comment on.
