Bell chases more Test centuries

Warwickshire's Ian Bell has admitted it is time for him to score more centuries at Test match level for England.

Bell has passed 50 on 25 occasions in his 36 appearances but has gone on to reach 100 just seven times.

From the Beeb

He's making the right noises (as you have to!) but do you think he'll kick on and develop into a great player? I think he has the raw ability and he does seem to work on his game very hard but he may just lack that killer edge needed.

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

I know little about batting technique, but it seems that his strength is driving through the line of good length and full balls outside off stump. However, when he moves to about 60-odd, he seems to become a bit too agressive with these balls, chasing balls which aren't there and pushing when he should be blocking. Perhaps it is mental overconfidence.

He has a fabulous technique, arguably the best in the England team at present, seeing that Vaughan's gone to pot abit. He's uses his feet against the spinners and hits them down the ground and has all the makings of a fantastic test match batsman. A good 2009 Ashes series and we could see the true emergance of the lad. He's certainly got the talent.

He does have a fabulous technique, but his shot selection is not quite perfect when he is settled.
