Best Batsmen in the South Divisions?

There are many quality batsmen rolling through both South A and B this year, who are your picks?

Here are a few of mine:

P. Gilchrist (Moorabbin Park)
L. Mitchell (Old Mentonians)
D. Bolst (Parkdale)
J. Morsello (East Malvern)
MA Perera (Heatherton)

Also look out for new young keeper at Clayton Brendan Lazarus, superstar.

A pom at Middle Park by the name of Michael Scott

Not sure if his numbers stack up to him being the best bat in the South.

I have not seen him play but it's interesting two blokes from the DDCA (Law and Perara) are leading the aggregates in Senior A and South A. Always thought it was a bit of a micky mouse comp.

If Ajax were still there it would be Lamb by a fair way, a quick check of Results Vault shows he averaged 50+ in his season there at Ajax and 48 in two seasons at Murrumbeena.

This year it is a bit open but the bloke from Heatherton could break a few records with 3 tons already from 4 hits.

There was a young kid a couple of years ago at East Malvern that was a gun....Aaron Kneebone....only 17 but made 500 odd runs, not sure where he is now.

Greene from Carnegie is really good...be interesting to see how he performed in a higher grade.

Re: Best Batsmen in the South Divisions?

Dingley's pom import Danny Guest to start smashing tons soon

and captain Jamie McDonnell

That is just about the funniest thing I have read on this site and that is saying a bit.

Guest 62 runs including 30 in the seconds. McConnell 80 runs batting at number 5 in a horrible team. Dingley going nowhere fast.

From Skye in the south. Also the skipper and the opening bat also from there. Don't know how many others are there, but knowing Heatherton they will win a flag with these 3 then they will dissapear and watch Heatherton struggle when promoted.

never said they have been making runs?;)

Re: Best Batsmen in the South Divisions?

Dave Fernandez from Bonbeach Tangy, has made 400 runs, including a ton against top side Heatherton.
Other scores include, 91, 50, 43 and 41.
Very consistent player.

Re: Best Batsmen in the South Divisions?

Walker from Aspendale also....can't argue with 2 tons.

Saw Gogoi from South Yarra bat a while ago (299 @ 59)...never seen a guy play and miss so much...must be doing something right though.

Also, Fernandez has had 10 hits!

We have to remember these runs are in SB1, but runs are runs. Daykin from Port Melbourne looks to be the best player in SA1 , he did play for NSW 2nd X1

Think we can officially call it off after this weekend - Daykin now almost 400 ahead of the next. 221 is a BIG score.

Played at Northern Districts last season, scored 1 hundred in that comp.
Above average credentials for vtca , could argue he's one the best in the whole comp after his season.
