Channel 10 news said that it has been confirmed that Bob Woolmer was murdered.
Chandu, I wouldn't take what the Indian TV has said. It most likely is false.

They reckon it was somebody who was a tourist and may of been in Woolmer's room as he was writing his autobiography at the time.

Mr. Hamid Mir claims that he has been in contact with a number of people inside PCB as well as the Pakistan team who are currently in Montego Bay or Kingston. Not many other members of international press have access to these people right now. That's how Mr. Mir claims to be ahead of the news than the rest.

Of course, no way to know if he is making it up or not just to get his Geo TV channel into spotlight.

Latest update as reported by NDTV:

All of Pakistan team were supposed to leave Montego Bay for Pakistan on Saturday. (Except perhaps Inzi who was supposed to go to South Africa with Woolmer's casket.)

However, Pakistan team's departure has now been put on hold for upto 2 more days. At Jamaican police insistence, all of Pakistan team will have to remain on Jamaican soil for 1 or 2 more days. Exact reasons for this are not being given by Jamaican authorities.

NDTV also states they directly contacted police authorities in Jamaica to confirm above statements. Jamiacan police are not willing to confirm anything about any arrests. It is quite possible that Mr. Hamid Mir is making things up.

the Yank national news? The only time they ever cover cricket is

how about 100% that it does, because it already has. it was on cnn.com's front page last night when it was announced

national news means it goes to the whole nation, which is what cnn does.

it is a NATIONAL network

and for the record it is on abc.com as well.

before it was even a murder ( the day he died) I heard and saw the story on our local radio & TV affiliate stations. At least it was a serious story without the typical snide, lamooping remarks that usually are part and parcel of a Cricket story in the US... ie: "the game Robin Williams refers to as basball on valium etc." I'd like to put Mork from Ork in the crease against Shoab and see how he changes his tune because we would see Mr. Doubtfire filling a prescription for Percodan instead of valium once he takes a 95MPH short pitched inswinger to his ribcage....
