Definition of battler?

If battler is a guy who doesn't give his wicket away, bats for long periods and wittles away an attack, that is exactly what Border was.

Yeah, I'd agree with that.

However, I can't stress enough that I was never degrading AB's ability with the bat, I was simply saying that his style endeared himself to a lot of Australians; the never give up attitude combined with the bristling toughness always runs well with the Australian public.
