Bowling Fitness in General

I see that we have a lot of threads about fitness for fast bowling but I can't help thinking that there must be a standard level of fitness that all bowlers must need? So that up until a point all players can train the same until they need to concentrate on their own particular areas?

Although the demands on a spinner are going to be less than that of a pace bowler, surely they would both benefit from a general level of fitness?

You are quite right. There are differences in the physical demands of almost every position and players would need to personalise their approach to fitness to get the best results.

That said there are certain common threads with all skills: a strong core, balance, coordination, mobility, speed, quick feet, general strength and running technique for example.
