CJI Fatso Bat

Not sure if others have seen this, but this has to be one of the biggest bats I've seen on the market - Fatso Sumo Bat

Comes in at 3 - 4lb (trust me that is BIG) and is designed for the twenty20 game more than anything else.

As an idea of how thick the edges are, have a look at this (yes, that's a can of red bull)

So what do you reckon? Anyone tempted by one - they are a great price at the moment as well, limited offer time only though.

Wow. That's amazing. I'm like, meh, a red bull bottle aint that big. Then I saw this video, hell.

Man that is one freakin huge bat :eek:! Anyone who says that my bat is chunky I'll just redirect them here! The thing I want to know is how it is actually possible to play something like a stop drive

The weight is from 3lb to a max of 4lb (which is very heavy, trust me).

Cost is from £50 for a Kashmir version to £100 for a limited edition bat (special offer at the moment, I expect that to double in the near future).

All prefectly legal to use, the only restriction on a bat is the width of the blade, which was brought in after some bloke tried to bat with a blade that was wider than all 3 stumps.

wow i though full size bats were thick and the commentators are always complaining how big todays bats edges are imagine their faces when they see this bat lmao :D

It also depends on the pick up, if the guy knows what he's doing he could make it feel a bit lighter than that but even so, you wouldn't be using that bat (at 4lb) for much more than 20 overs at a time - unless you have forearms like Popeye.

That is INSANE!!! A powerful slogger like Afridi using such a bat would be dangerous. His mishits will easily clear the ground.

our pro always had one of these in his bag for when he needed a lot of quick runs. i think he had something about 3.12 :eek: when he went he let us use it as a net bat ( and for balcony cricket) and its unusable unless your massivly strong but our coach tried to get us all use to it as it was so big and sluggish it would improve our reactions when we got a lighter bat .... this didn't wurk so dnt try...because people were losing technique to make up for the weight and the other half were missing the ball because they were going to early.

so yes it does go miles off the middle,,, and is completly within the rules.... but just don't get it !!!particulary if your youngor nt exactly a body builder.

Not all of these massive bats are legal, remember that a cleft comes in a set size. So anything bigger than cleft is made from 2 clefts, which under the new Laws being brought in by the MCC these will be illegal.

I've not closely inspected a Fatso so will not comment on one, but it's certainly the case for other "big" bats.

I have emailed them to you, not much different apart from the handle must be mostly wood now (no 100% carbon handles) and the blade must be a single piece of wood.

..so the fatso is ok?? I bought one and used it last week for the first time in a match - have to say I loved it! (a few comments from my team though - as expected!!)

Well I think a bat like that has to be illegal otherwise with the T20 craze all batsmen will start using such fat bats. It can also affect batsmans shot selection if they use heavy bats.
