Commonwealth Bank Series Game 5 - Sri Lanka vs India at Manuka Oval (Canberra)

This game is halfway through, with the rain playing a big part.

The game was reduced to 29 overs each, with Sri Lanka deciding to send India into bat. India scored 5/195 off their 29 overs. Rohit Sharma top scored with an impressive innings of 70 not out, Gambhir made 35, Tendulkar 32 and Dhoni scored 31.

Lasith Malinga, Farveez Maharoof and Nuwan Kulasekara all took a wicket each with the other two wickets the rrsult of run-outs.

So, Sri Lanka will have to score quickly to win this game and perhaps even quicker as it is raining again and we could see a further reduction in overs.

Re: Commonwealth Bank Series Game 5 - Sri Lanka vs India at Manuka Oval (Canberra)

Sri Lanka have raced to 0/41 after 3 overs. Sreesanth is bowling some absolute crap here and has 0/34 off two overs including 23 off that previous over.

Sanath Jayasuriya is going nuts, 26 off 11 balls. Tillekeratne Dilshan has a more modest 10 off 8 balls.

And Jayasuriya is gone for 27, tries to play a pull shot off Ishant Sharma but top edged the ball off his gloves and the ball goes stright to Dhoni.

1/45 in the 4th over.

Sri Lanka are in a real hurry here, 1/69 after 7 overs, Dilshan is taking it up to the Indian attack now and has 23 off 21 balls.

They only need six an over from here on in too.

EDIT: Sangakkara falls to Harbhajan Singh's first ball for 10, 2/69 after 7.1 overs.

Re: Commonwealth Bank Series Game 5 - Sri Lanka vs India at Manuka Oval (Canberra)

Very easy win for Sri Lanka in the end. They raced to 2/154 from 19 overs, reaching the taregt with two overs to spare, therefore winning the game by 8 wickets.

Dilshan scored 62 not out with Jayawardene on 36 at the close.

Harbhajan Singh was India's best bowler with 1/15 from four overs. The day didn't get much better for Sreesanth either, he was brought back for one more over which saw concede 14 to finish with figures of 0/48 off only three overs. It was a complete contrast to his bowling against Australia on Sunday Night.

India's performance in the field was very poor today, numerous misfields hampered their efforts for victory, some of the mistakes made were quite amateurish. Their batting was great bu their bowling and fielding at times today was very, very average, totally different from the game against Australia on Sunday. They'll have to ressurect that for the upcoming games in this series.

The Commonwealth Bank Series heads to the WACA Ground in Perth on Friday and sees Australia take on Sri Lanka in a day/night fixture.

Man of the Match was Tillekeratne Dilshan for his 62 not out.

In spite off the poor weather it was an enjoyable game. If the tri-series had of continued it would have been nice to let them have neutral game every year or two, better atmosphere than looking at a 4/5 empty stadium.
