County Championship 2008

roll on the new county season! I think the only reason I started following this was because I was bored at work and could listen to some matches at bbc.com so I would listen to Lancashire matches.

who is going to win? I'm pulling for Lancashire!

Re: Country Championship 2008

Mother grew up in Yorkshire, have seen a couple of games but it is just a little difficult to follow from back in Oz.

Re: Country Championship 2008

Round 1 of the fixtures I believe I found:

Wednesday, 16 April 2008
LV County Championship - Division One
Hampshire v Sussex, The Rose Bowl, 11:00
Kent v Nottinghamshire, Canterbury, 11:00
Surrey v Lancashire, The Brit Oval, 11:00
LV County Championship - Division Two
Essex v Northamptonshire, Chelmsford, 11:00
Gloucestershire v Derbyshire, Bristol, 11:00
Leicestershire v Middlesex, Grace Road, 11:00
Warwickshire v Worcestershire, Edgbaston, 11:00

Are many people followers of the county game? Maybe introduce a small tipping competition?

I'd be up for a tipping competition. I'll probably get my ass kicked, but it would be fun!

Alright we will see if a few people jump on board this concept but our lack of english posters might hurt it.

Re: County Championship 2008

Division One:

Nottinghamshire are sitting a top of the table with 61 points (2 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw) Sussex (1 win) and Surry (0 wins) and Somerset (1 win) are the other underfeated teams and are snapping at the heals. Down the bottom Kent, Lancashire, Durham and Hampshire all are 1 point within each other

Division Two:
Warwickshire and Leicestershire are both underfeated after 5 games with 1 win and 4 draws. They are seperated by bonus points. At the end of the ladder are Middlesex and Gloucestershire who are lagging quite badly
