Cricinfo Fantasy Cricket

Not sure how many would be interested in this but if any of you regularly do the fantasy cricket on Cricinfo and would like to enter a simplyCricket super league, post in here and I'll get you signed up.

It's free to enter so no excuse not to really.

All the information can be found at this link - Cricinfo Fantasy Cricket.

If you're interested please check it out and if you're brave enough come see if you can pick your wits against me and pick a better side.

Re: Telegraph Fantasy Cricket

I'd be up for it, could be fun.

Re: Telegraph Fantasy Cricket

To make this more attractive I've created a free league over at Cricinfo.

All you need to do is post in here and I'll send you an invite to join the exclusive simplyCricket fantasy league!

Re: Telegraph Fantasy Cricket

Okay, chuck me an invite for the Cricinfo one... should be worth a look, and it can't do any worse than my fantasy football team did this season! :p

Re: Telegraph Fantasy Cricket

Well, I've selected my Telegraph team, but I'll wait until we know for sure whether we're doing this or not before I go ahead and confirm.

Anyway, for those that are interested in my picks:

Batsmen
GA Hick
JL Denly
MA Carberry
S Chanderpaul (C)

All-rounders
RN ten Doeschate
LJ Wright

Wicket-keepers
P Mustard

Bowlers
SP Jones
JAR Harris
SJ Harmison
JN Gillespie

I hope Durham have a good season again, as I have three of their key players in my side! Also, I'll be hoping Luke Wright doesn't see too much England action this summer, as I chose to have him as a second all-rounder rather than Owais Shah as a specialist batsman.

Re: Telegraph Fantasy Cricket

Yeah, batting looks a bit thin, with only Hick and Chanderpaul having any real experience, but I'll put my faith in the forces of youth. As for the bowling, I took a bit of a chance there - I fancy Harmy to take a few wickets at County level, and Harris is a handy source of wickets as well as runs, but Jones and Gillespie were real gambles.

EDIT:
good lord, they're tough with the points limits on Cricinfo! I really really struggled to pick eleven decent players that I felt were going to score regular points... I'm not holding my breath at doing much with this side, as I've just seen Mas cambios' side, and it looks like it's going to wipe the floor with me.

You fail to realise that I am cursed when it comes to Fantasy leagues. If I pick a player then he will either get injured, suffer a drop in form so bad he's never heard of again or abducted by aliens.

Re: Telegraph Fantasy Cricket

It sounds like it's going to be a bad season for Mr Denly then, as I have similar luck, and we've both picked him!

Re: Telegraph Fantasy Cricket

my team is up! i'll be honest i dont follow it to much! usually too envolved with my own club so it could be worth a laugh!
