I've heard the name bandied around a bit but can't tell you of the quality. I think he's honest enough but if you have doubts then I'd say go somewhere you trust.

He used to work for Impala and is a trustworthy maker. I've read a number of good reviews on him.

Tell them what you're after in terms of high middle, low middle. What grain you like on the bat, handle type and whatever else on a bat.

If there's a bat shape on the market that you like you can tell them to make something similar or if you don't have a clue what you need tell the batmaker how you play and on what kind of pitches.

A decent bat maker should be used to ask questions in order to find out what the client wants. As evo says, if you have an idea of what you're after discuss it with them, if you have a bat shape in mind then show them.

The more info you give them, then the closer to your ideal they'll be able to get.
