fielding practice bat

fielding practice bat

I saw a group of Senior players before a match practicing their fielding, with the coach knocking the ball out to them with a short heavy bat. It had a full handle but the blade was only about a foot long and it looked like it was covered in rubber or something.

Has anyone ever come across this before? Anyone know what it's called or where I can get one?

Thanks,
Ed

Re: fielding practice bat

May be a fusion fielding bat.

It's a cut down bat with plenty of wood on it, often covered with a rubber face in order to help accuracy and generate power. If it's not the Fusion one, then it's probably a rival manufacturers replica.

If it was Orange definitely the Skyer. I'm 99% sure no other manufacturer makes a rubber faced bat, and if they do they probably won't do for much longer.

Skyer's a decent bit of kit, I agree that it may be a bit much for individuals. But along with the Katchet for clubs they're a good buy. I have one and enjoy using it, it makes fielding practice more fun. If anyone wants any info on them give me a shout.
