Ford Ranger Cup - South Australia vs Tasmania at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

A crucial game of the Ford Ranger Cup Series gets underway with South Australia hosting Tasmania. SA go into the game needing to win to keep their chances of making the final alive, they only have one win from five matches. Tasmania also need to win as they play again in the next few days which will take them to eight games played in total. With Victoria and WA only having played five matches they must win to stay in front of them as those two states have games in hand.

Should be a good match, pitch looks to be a good one so we should see a high scoring affair.

South Australia XI: Michael Klinger, Tom Cooper, Younis Khan, Callum Ferguson, Daniel Christian, Aaron O'Brien, *+Graham Manou, Mark Cleary, Matthew Weeks, Daniel Cullen, Jake Haberfield (List A debut)

Tasmania XI: Michael Dighton, +Tim Paine, George Bailey, *Daniel Marsh, Travis Birt, Luke Butterworth, Jason Krejza, Brendan Drew, Xavier Doherty, Chris Duval, Ben Hilfenhaus

Tasmnia won the toss and batted first. Good start from them so far, they are 0/35 after six overs.

Paine's done something to his ankle and now Doherty is out in the middle as his runner. Ankle has been heavily taped up and Paine looks to be in some discomfort.

Could pose a major problem later on as he may not be able to keep.

0/67 after 12, Dighton has raced to 41, Paine on 21.

Edit: Paine retires hurt on 21, pain just too much for him to handle. Bailey at the crease now.

Paine just retired hurt and it looks like he will be unable to keep.

Bailey gone to a nice catch low down from Klinger. Christian has the first wicket of the innings.

1/93 in the 19th over. Daniel Marsh is the new batsman.

Come you two-headed gits!

Re: Ford Ranger Cup - South Australia vs Tasmania at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

Another for Christian!! Moves it away from the batsman again and Dighton half-plays it through cover but can only find the edge and Manou takes an easy catch.

2/96, important wicket there. Travis Birt is the new man in.

Dighton out in the same over.

Tassie 2/98 with two new batsmen, Marsh and Birt at the crease.

:p

Tassie made 310 with Birt batting fantastically making 94 off 80 and Marsh made 76 off 85.

SA are now batting and are 0/32 off 6 overs. A good start to the chase.

Tasmania's bowlers are the worst in the Australian Domestic competition ..

Without Geeves and Divin they did struggle but generally they have one of the best attacks going around.

That was a fantastic run chase from South Australia. Klinger was the star making an unbeaten 133 and received great support from Cooper, Khan and Ferguson.

South Australia made the target of 310 with 6 wickets in hand and 8 balls to spare. If they continue this form they have a slight chance of making the final.

WOO!

Go REDBACKS!!

Sad part about the game: despite the win being fantastic, we only had one south aussie batting for us.

Check out the 6 who batted in the game for the South Aussies: a Victorian and New South Welshman open, a Pakistani comes in at 3, the lone south aussie follows and two new south welshmen finish the innings.

What a great win! This was one of the best ever - Klinger is a champ, Cooper's career is finally taking off after limited opportunities in Sydney, Ferguson is coming on strong after a slow start to the career and Obi and Dan Christian are looking the goods. We've got a good side at the moment - especially with the bat - i hope our bowlers aren't going to struggle now.
