Darren Gough, the former England fast bowler and current Yorkshire captain, will retire from first-class cricket at the end of the 2008 season.

"I think it's time now," Gough said after Yorkshire's washed out Friends Provident Trophy match against Derbyshire. "I'm 37, we've got some good youngsters coming through and I'll be 38 when I've retired. I think I've had a good innings and it's time to call it a day."

Would be the fast bowler I remembered most from growing up watching the English play us in the Ashes. Was a fantastic player and good bloke as well (was lucky enough to meet him when I was young)

Re: Gough to Retire

Gough was a gun, my favourite all time English bowler, reckon he should have played more than he did for England

He was my favourite English bowler as well. Hope he can have some more success this season before he retires.
