Re: Greetings

Have to say, the fitness and nutrition looks very interesting, as in my spare times I train and "compete" in triathlon also However cricket is my first sport. Getting excited as my new helmet arrived today!

Re: Greetings

Pretty decent helmet that, good price too (for over here anyway, not sure what it's like in your part of the world).

Any particular bran of gear you go for?

Re: Greetings

I go for whatever is cheap! As a recently graduated student i am somewhat poor!
Most the stuff I have was bought at post season sales etc, so at the moment I have some Kookaburra "ICE" pads, gray-nicolls thigh pads. and some Gunn and Moore Gloves sitting in my bag. Heres a question actually, is there ways to clean them? Would cleaning them after matches make pads and stuff last longer?

Re: Greetings

PS i've only actually been playing for 2 seasons, Have always loved cricket but only started to take it seriously whilst at university.

Re: Greetings

Everytime you use your gear it should be aired out and I like to wipe my stuff down with a cloth, stuff like inners can be soaked when sweaty and use common sense to work out how to wash this and that. The better maintained, the longer it will last. The bat and equipment guide forum is the best for that, get some more proffesional opinions!

A friend of mine not long ago was an Englishman and had picked me up from a game, but I accidentally left my gear in his car. He returned to England two weeks later and I haven't a clue where my gear went. I too am low on that stuff called money and have been making do in some very basic manners, right down to borrowing everything but a box. Slowly stocking up though!

Ask the cleaning question over on the other forum and see what the others can come up with.

I figured as much, although i dont tend to last long enough to get a decent score! Batting at #10/11 tends to mean i'm out or the other guy is out before too long! Although I did score a top score of 19* last season, and an average of about 6.

My bat on the other hand is a prized possession!
Got it from an old teammate who bought it and didn't like it because it was too heavy (imported) so i picked it up quite cheap. Its One of these (SS YUVI TON Twenty-20 Grade 1 Players Edition ) and packs a lovely bit of meat! Just need to hang around longer to use it!
