Have the selectors done it again?

Have the selectors done it again?

Australian Selectors have left David Warner out of the one day side, is this another example of their poor judgment of form, talent and fear of youth?

Obviously they havent learnt a lesson on playing injured players (Michael Clark).

Not playing Warner may cost them about 5,000 people coming to the game as he is a crowd puller and a player people want to go and see.

If they play an out of form and undeserving Marsh who hasnt made runs all year instead of Warner then we all may as well give up trying to win cricket matches because this will prove that the selectors get stuck in their ways and are not picking the best team. I want to go and see the best team play, not a half Australia half Australia A side play.

More pure rubbish from the selectors...

Re: Have the selectors done it again?

They didn't exactly leave him out to be honest, Michael Clarke proved fit & I guess selectors see more in Clarke than in Warner even thought I wanted Warner to play today, but that's cricket.

Re: Have the selectors done it again?

He'll be playing with some pain, i guess if it's not too much it'll be ok but for me perhaps an unnecessary risk.

But playing Marsh? I don't see where they are coming from. He hasn't made runs all year and Clark will probably open and he's a makeshift opener. We look very weak in the opening batsmen department.
White and hopes are also iffy selections, they are average at best. Andrew McDonald has been the best performing allrounder at state level and he isn't even in the squad.

Doesn't make a lot of sence for mine. I don't know when we will start playing the best performing players because currently we are just playing names.

Re: Have the selectors done it again?

Well Mike Hussey has opened, Clarke's due to come in at 4. I don't think Clarke would play if he wasn't fit. I think they have learnt there lesson by now. Marsh is looking ominously good though, and Hussey is already out. My ideal line up would be:
Warner
Marsh
Ponting
Clarke
M.Hussey
D.Hussey
Haddin
Hopes
Bracken
Hilfenhaus
Tait

Re: Have the selectors done it again?

They should thank Marsh for tonight, he scored Australia's most runs for the night.

Re: Have the selectors done it again?

Marsh did alright tonight, it amazes me how he can not make runs for his state but he can against South Africa... Perhaps he lacks concerntration when patting for his state knowing he is going to play IPL and ODI.

Any way we lost, we simply didn't make enough runs. Cameron white is in the side as a batsmen/slogger as he doesn't bowl, he is not as good as Warner. We have lost Gilly and Haydos, two fast scorers we havent replaced, Warner must play. If Marsh can keep batting well then he can earnhis spot that way, he is young and I like his selection based on his youth and ability.

Re: Have the selectors done it again?

Warner still has alot to prove. If he dosen't do well in this odi we will see what sort of tune you are singing then.

And you don't pick players because it will draw more people to the game the kid hasn't even played a first class match and now hear they are rushing him into the odi side.

If anything it was a bad move to pick him.
