Heading to the nets

I have always loved playing cricket, although I have never done so in a club team; only at indoor venues.

Now my dad is a sack of lazy shit, and because he is the only one in my area who would actually consider heading down to the nets for a hit and a bowl, I often find myself staying at home and just watching the cricket on TV.

Does everyone else here have friends that head to the cricket nets often, or do you find yourself without a batter to face your bowling?

Where are you - if you live near me - come on down I'll bowl at you? But yeah you're right it's difficult to get people to join you. I've got 2 kids but they're only 8 and 11 and as yet they're not quite interested enough yet to really want to do either, so I'm hoping my body holds out for another 10 years so maybe one day I'll face some decent bowling and challlenging batting to bowl at!
