ICC bans officials after World Cup Final farce
The ICC has banned the five officials who participated in the ICC World Cup Final played earlier this year. Steve Bucknor, Aleem Dar, Rudi Koertzen, Billy Bowden and match referee Jeff Crowe have all been barred from officiating at the next ICC tournament which is the Twenty20 World Cup, due to be played in September this year.
Future appointments will be made in the lead up to the tournament which takes place between September 11 and 24 in South Africa.

About bloody time as well. Those five geese are repsonsible for screwing up the biggest cricketing event on the ICC calendar. I'm surprised they weren't stood down for a period of time or have them miss ODI's and tests as part of the usual yearly calendar.
It leaves the umpires roster quite bare for the tournament though. It only leaves five of the elite panel umpires available for the Twenty20 World Cup, those umpires being Mark Benson, Billy Doctrove, Darrell Hair, Daryl Harper and Simon Taufel. With Darrell Hair not on the scene due to his infamous brainfade, that leaves just four panel umpires remaining.
I can't see those four umpiring all of the matches within the tournament. I would like to see some umpires from the associate nations given a go. Perhaps an umpire from each of Netherlands and Ireland as well as Bangladesh officiating the tournament.
The ICC will take its usual path and promote a couple of the domestic umpires from each country and use them for the tournament instead.
