Some bargins I can see are Jesse Ryder at $100,000, can smash the ball. Samit Patel at #$100,000 and Michael Dighton. With Ryder and Dighton they have awesome eyes and can swing through and it goes a long long way. I think Patel is the English kid that is a bit of a spinner, creating havoc in the domestic UK scene.

Final results wil be posted up here

Michael Clarke withdrew from the Auction because he wanted to spend more time with Family etc and have a rest between series.

IPL Auction - Results

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A lot of surprises there with a lot of well known players not even getting a gig. Shocked that Shabik al Hasan wasn't picked up with him being the number one all-rounder in ODI cricket at the moment. There are a lot of names there who you would expect to at least secure a contract, S. Clark, Haddin, Kapugedera, Prince, Jaques, Wright, Nel, Kulasekara, Powell, Iqbal, McGain, Franklin, Sarwan, Dighton and Geeves amongst others.

Less than half the players were sold leaving a lot of players without a side. Interesting stuff.

Re: Indian Premier League Auction (Feb 7)

Dwayne Smith to Deccan Chargers 100,000 (100,000)
Jerome Taylor to Punjab 150,000 (150,000)
Jesse Ryder to Bangalore 160,000 (100,000)
Kyle Mills to Mumbai 150,000 (150,000).
Fidel Edwards to Deccan Chargers 150,000 (150,000)
Shaun Tait to Rajasthan Royals 375,000 (250,000)

Those are all quality picks for pretty cheap prices.
Shaun Tait is a 20/20 specialist bowler, i think he'll dominate the IPL.
Shakib Al Hasan seriously unlucky not to get picked, especially with all the hype around him.

Re: Indian Premier League Auction (Feb 7)

Mortaza bought for $600,000 after a reserve of $50,000! Someone seriously undervalued himself.
