IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

No home ground advantage for this one and Delhi are even listed as the "home" team for the first semi final. A cut throat semi this game, the winner will play in the Grand Final while the loser is gone, if Rajasthan lose today, it could mean the best placed team after the qualifying rounds is out before the Grand Final but that's how things happen in the IPL.

Anyway, Rajasthan are looking pretty solid at the moment. Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl, so far things haven't gone their way. The Royals are 3/120 after 13 overs, Shane Watson is up to 43 with Mohammad Kaif not out on 5. Earlier on, Graeme Smith scored 25, Sohail Tanvir batted as a pinchhitter but made only five runs and Swapnil Asnodkar made 29 from just 21 balls.

All three wickets have been taken by Farveez Maharoof, he has 3/13 off two overs, a really good effort so far.

Still plenty of cricket to go in this one, this might go down to the wire.

Delhi Daredevils XI: *V Sehwag, G Gambhir, S Dhawan, TM Dilshan, MK Tiwary, +KD Karthik, MF Maharoof, VY Mahesh, A Mishra, GD McGrath, Mohammad Asif

Rajasthan Royals XI: GC Smith, SA Asnodkar, Sohail Tanvir, SR Watson, M Kaif, YK Pathan, RA Jadeja, *SK Warne, SK Trivedi, MM Patel, +M Rawat

Kaif goes for 12, bowled by Mishra. Kaif swings wildly across the line but misses and Mishra hits.

4/130 now.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Watson stumped for 52, Mishra gets his second wicket.

5/155 from 16 overs. Yusuf Pathan is up to 18 already from only nine balls. He's looking ominous.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

A good catch from Maharoof sees Jajeda on his way for 7, Mahesh the wicket-taker on this occasion.

6/172, Warne in now, Pathan is 28 not out from 15 and has three sixes already.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Oh and Warne's gone first ball! He cuts hard but Sehwag takes a diving catch at point.

7/172 from 18 overs.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

A good last over from Mohammad Asif sees two wickets, a caught and bowled to Asif himself and then Pathan was run out.

Rajasthan finish 9/192, a very, very competitive total in the scheme of things. Pathan was run out for 45 from 21 deliveries.

This is going to be a tense finish in my opinion.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Huge wicket for Watson!! Virender Sehwag tries to pull but it was too quick for him and his pull goes awry and Tanvir takes a one-handed catch between fine leg and long leg.

1/12 in the second over.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Another one for Watson, this time it's Gambhir who is out to a brilliant catch fro substitute Kohli

2/23 now after four, Watson has 2/6 from two overs!!

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Watto again!! Dhawan out on this occasion, he pulls the ball stright to Jadeja at mid-wicket and is out foir five.

Watson has three wickets and Delhi have his Strugglesville. 3/24 in the 6th over, one run has come from the last two overs.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Uh-oh!! Munaf Patel gets the wicket of Tiwary for a duck after skying a mistimed pull to midwicket. Delhi are falling in a hole here.

4/28 in the 7th over, the Royals are showing their class.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Trivedi gets his first wicket of the game, it's Karthik out this time to a full toss nonetheless. Karthink flicks it off his pads but doesn't put it away and Kaif is waiting at deep midwicket.

Deep trouble for Delhi, 5/56 after 10 overs.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Now Maharoof is out. Farveez can't repeat his bowling heroics and is out to catch in the deep courtesy of Shane Warne's bowling.

6/76, Dilshan is Delhi's last hope.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

The BigCricket curse!! Dilshan out now trying to slog sweep Warne but he picks out Tanvir at fine-leg.

7/77 from 13 overs. 16.57 an over needed from here.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Munaf Patel picks up wicket number two, Mishra attempts to play off his pads but misses everything and the ball thuds into his pads and then the stumps.

8/77, disappointing effort from Delhi.

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

Yo Mahesh out now, tries to hook one but it hits his shoulder and Rawat takes the catch. Rudi the trigger finger gives him.

9/87 and McGrath's just hit a four (albiet an edge through fine-leg)!!! :D

Re: IPL First Semi-Final - Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai

A bizarre run out ends the game, Asif is run out for three and Delhi are all out for a dismal 87 meaning Rajasthan are into the Grand Final!!

Great effort from the Royals, they batted brilliantly and then backed it up with a superb bowling effort lead by Shane Watson and Munaf Patel who took three wickets each.

Rajasthan have a day off now before the Grand Final on Sunday Night. They will play the winner of tomorrow's game between Kings XI Punjab and the Chennai Super Kings.

very very ordinary from Delhi - never in the game, they looked horrible.

Rajasthan will win this won't they? they have a fantastic team, and a fantastic leader.

Just think him being in front of Australia. Would of been the better choice of Ponting after Waugh's retirement but he just can't keep it in his pants.
