IPL Game 10 - Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians at PCA Stadium, Mohali, Chardigarh

Game 10 is underway with the winless Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians playing each in Mohail. Mumbai won the toss and chose to bowl first and have one early breakthrough, the wicket of Irfan Pathan who was out to Ashish Nehra for six.

Punjab are 1/34 in the 5th over.

Goel's run out!! Sangakkara smashes the ball from Harbhajan Singh stright to Dwayne Bravo but there was never a run there and Goel is miles out.

Good over from Harbhajan, only five from it as Punjab move to 2/86 from nine overs.

Pollock picks up Yuvraj Singh who is out for 18 from only nine balls faced. Yuvraj strikes the ball down the ground but doesn't put enough on it and Bravo takes a great catch just above the ground.

Nehra gets his second wicket. Sarwan is caught by Harbhajan after trying to belt one over extra cover.

Jayawardene plays a cheeky reverse pull/sweep but hits it straight to Nayar at short third man and now Sohal is out for a duck giving Kulkarni wicket number one.

6/155 in the 18th over. Are they going to get enough?

Sangakkara holes out trying to go 100, he's out for 94 and is caught by Kulkarni at deep square leg off the bowling of Harbhajan who now has two wickets.

Chawla out for a first ball duck. 8/169 after 19 overs and Harbhajan finishes with 3/32 from four overs.

Edit: Sreesanth gone first ball too!! 9/170 now, can they bat out the overs?

VRV Singh comes back for a suicidal single and is run out off the last ball.

Punjab are all out for 182, Sangakkara the stand out with 94 with Brett Lee upping the scoring rate at the end with 16 off eight deliveries.

This will be a good chase, 182 is gettable but still enough to defend. Could see another very close game.

Lee too quick for Jayasuriya who hits the fast bowler a return catch, taking the ball on his knees. And Ronchi is run out next ball after looking so good with the bat, Uthappa drops the ball to his side but Rochi is too slow and Lee runs him out.

Delayed telecast has just started where I'm living. How hot are the cheerleaders?? Robin Jackman, the former England player was doing the pitch report and then asked one of the young cheerleaders what she would do first if she won the toss, she said she'd bat first. Then Jackman went on to say there was only a little bit of grass on the wicket!! :eek: :D

Chawla gets Bravo, Bravo comes forward and tries to loft the young leg-spinner but missed and Chawla takes his middle stump.

3/61 in the 9th over, Mumbai under a bit of pressure now.

VRV Singh gets Uthappa who is out after chipping a soft catch to midwicket.

4/68 after 10 overs and Punjab are in control, run rate up to 11 per over with two new batters at the crease.

Chawla gets Tiwary, another clean bowled dismissal.

Munbai in trouble at 5/94, Chawla finishes with 2/16 off four overs, brilliant figures for twenty20 cricket.

Edit: Nayar plays a horrible crossbat shot, Chawla takes an easy catch at mid-on to give Irfan Pathan his second wicket for the game.

6/94 in the 14th over, Shaun Pollock is Mumbai's last hope with run rate required over 13.

Pathan gets Harbhajan Singh next ball, walks across his stumps and tries to his the ball into the Pacific Ocean but is out plumb LBW. Mumbai are falling apart worse than my Mum's apple crumble.

7/94, Pollock on 13 who can only look on at the carnage.

This game is all but over. Sreesanth got Pollock about 5 mins ago, Yuvraj took an unbelievable catch to dismiss the South African. Brett Lee bowled a very tight over after that over from Sreesanth to finish with 1/9 from four overs. Unheard of in Twenty20 cricket and the second best figures in terms of runs per over in this tournament so far.

8/110 after 16 overs.

Another wicket down as Sreesanth gets Khote hit ciekt. Khote hits his stumps with his bat trying to play the shot and that is out.

9/113 from 18 overs with Nehra and Kulkarni to face out the remaining deliveries. Run rate required is up to 35.

Tame last over from Pathan as Nehra blocks it out for a maiden. It gives the Kings XI Punjab their first win of the tournament while Mumbai have now lost three in a row. The Kings XI finish on 9/116, not even six an over in the end, the early loss of wickets hurt them and they never recovered from there.

Punjab wins by 66 runs, Sangakkara's innings set them up with Brett Lee and Piyush Chawla bowling superbly to set up the win. Sreesanth is now crying for some reason, what is that about?

Anyway, Punjab are on the board while Mumbai are still winless and are firmly entrenched with the Deccan Chargers on the bottom of the ladder.

There's two games tomorrow night, with the first game starting at 10:30am GMT. Looking forward to it!

No wonder Sreesanth was crying, Harbhajan Singh hit him in the face!! :eek:

Sources close to him said that after the match a smiling Sreesanth walked up to Harbhajan - the captain of the losing Mumbai Indians - and said "Hard luck". "That was when Harbhajan lost his cool and hit Sreesanth under the eye," said sources close to the fast bowler.

Wow!! A bit of agro between the Indian players in this match. Apparently Uthappa and Sreesanth had words and the Mumbai team weren't not happy with Sreesanth's wicket celebrations during the game.

Totally unacceptable, I wonder what disciplinary actions the IPL will take over this?
