is this site legit and taxes

Hey
i have visited a site named Online Stockist and am wanting to purchase and import to australia what are the taxes and other fees and is this site legit:confused:

Re: is this site legit and taxes

From the brief glance I've had, it looks ok. Can't answer your questions on shipping tax as I'm not in Australia, why don't you email them and ask? It would also give you more information to go on when deciding if they are legit or not.

Re: is this site legit and taxes

i got the email in 48 hours and he told me the shipping was

Try here - Cricket Supplies Cricket Forum

You appear to live in Sydney - I'm sure there are more than a few cricket shops near to you can buy a bat in the flesh. If you want a specific brand then there are many well known and reputable web retailers who can supply you with it. If getting a bat is such a matter of life and death then go and buy one in person - it's the best way, trust me.

As for handles, personal choice. At your level it's not going to make a difference, at least not one you're going to notice.

Finally, the reason people are not answering is probably because of the following:

1. People have never heard of the company you mention. Also, as you have failed to link to it, people are less likely to look for themselves
2. Shipping varies from company to company. Only the specific company can answer your query.
3. Import costs will again vary, largely down to the price of the bat. A good, reputable company should be able to sort all that out for you.
4. Your manner is less than polite. When people do take time to help you spout a load of abuse, hence the ban and pre-moderation.

Re: is this site legit and taxes

You'd be better off buying a bat from a specialist cricket shop within Sydney. A lot of the cricket shops in Australia are a no-muck around type thing, the guys that work there know what they are on about and will try and find you the best equipment possible to suit your own game and at a reasonable price. At least that is what I have found when I went and bought some new gear for myself a few years ago.

The only thing I've gotten off the internet for cricket gear was a pair of Gray Nicolls gloves which were bought off e-bay as a Christmas present for me a couple of years ago. The gloves were brand new and were $70 in a cricket shop but whoever was selling them on e-bay had them priced at $30, they were in perfect condition (never been used, were still in the packaging) and I've had no problems with them.

Having said that, buying stuff like bats off the net can be quite risky as you don't really know what you're getting. Going and getting a bat in person is the best way, you can get the feel for the bat in your hands and you can also try a range of bats if the one you liked originally isn't quite the best fit you were hoping for. The same applies for helmets, pads and other cricketing equipment.

So in my opinion, I'd skip buying a bat off the net and go to a proper cricketing shop and buy one in person. It'll be a lot better and you can try and find the best bat suited to you personally rather than hoping that the bat you liked on the internet will be the one for you.
