eca is set to dominate.

ECA always strong, so they bluddy well should be too. VMCU - they'll give the Mitchell Shield a shake as usual, but not that strong in other age groups, mainly because they have two sides. State Champs, 14s and 16s look like strong teams. Noticed Eldridge not in the Dowling Shield side - why not?

Jika - VMCU sides will be OK, not sure that the 16s can win it again, but they do have a stronger team than first thought, mainly because the Cowboys selections are very surprising. Many really good players were left out, so Jika benefit. Same deal only more pronounced in the 14s, in fact if you take out Morris & Di Battista I reckon the Jika U/14s would match the Cowboys easily.

North West and Moorabbin are always thereabouts.

eldridge did not make dowling as he has serious back injuries with stress fractures and has been unable to bowl. Unfortunately his batting of late has not been the best but ive heard he is on the up with his batting. Bit of a shame he didnt make it seeing as he made it as a bottom ager last year.

Re: January Rep cricket, how will your district shape up????

jika will have a strong 16s nothing much to say about the rest. cowboys will stuggle because of selections. Yates, Newell, Riddle should be in the side but now they are going to dominate vmcu especially with classy sub-district players with Yates, Newell n Fox. They will struggle to have a good bowling line up but have an unbelievable batting line up for such a competition. North west will be strong but Jika still team to beat. DVCA and HDCA will struggle as they lost all there top players to dowling.

Agreed, stunning decision to leave them out, esp Newell & Riddle. Fox also unlucky.

Re: January Rep cricket, how will your district shape up????

just moving to pathways for a sec, i reckon the cowboys will give the comp a fair shake this year in the under 14s, anybody else reckon?

yes newell and riddle also not named in the leader ship group of beitzel shield team with joe russo being named captain! Fox lives in the area of North East Falcons and got cut at the first stage. Fox stuggles againest the quicks and bowling isnt to great.

Cowboys under 14s relying on three players. Morris, Dibattista and Simmons and if they dont fired they are in trouble. Morris is a candicate for player of the tournament. Morris is a top act.

Re: January Rep cricket, how will your district shape up????

Jika will have a weak bowling attack in the under 14 allen shield but a decent batting line up

jika 14s have never been strong mate since all the half decent players go straight to cowboys!! but the 16s will defiently give it a shake probably favourites for the beitzel shield

Re: January Rep cricket, how will your district shape up????

watch out for j.twaits of jika in the beitzel shield. i reckon he has a big carnival coming on.

Re: January Rep cricket, how will your district shape up????

lmao joel his a top player but never played turf! hard for someone to walk onto turf and dominate but yes he will have an impact with the ball

Re: January Rep cricket, how will your district shape up????

southern rangers my dowling team which im in squad of 26 for should do well with seagulls the leader to take it out to. Seagulls got some terrific players so does southern rangers to. other competiton from inner east n cowboys to.;)

Re: January Rep cricket, how will your district shape up????

All you blokes who are actually considering that cowboys will be there or there abouts in dowling this year are actually puffin muffins.

I have played cricket against the JIKA/DVCA players who are eligible for Cowboys and the only decent cricketers have been Arthur Nitsopolous, Adam Marcon, Michael Sortino and a couple of others.

They will not trouble any of the leading sides.

My early tip is Barwon Rockets to beat South East in the final.
