just sanded my bat... what next?

hey guys...

i sanded the stickers off of the back of my bat.... the blade looks beaut. though i have had mixed advice given from alot of people..

my question is... with the "raw" looking willow on the back after the sanding.. should i now oil the entire back of the bat lightly for protection?

Give it a light oil on the back, avoiding the splice. Don't over do it, 2 coats is plenty.
