Keeping vs Batting
The debate as to who should be the keeper for England continues to rage with the pair of Mustard and Ambrose the latest additions to an ever growing list.
The big question is what should be England be looking for? Should they have a keeper who can bat or batsman who can keep? Both are pretty specialist areas an each in their own right can change the outcome of a game.
There are numerous stats around detailing the number of runs that each of the misses have cost England in recent years, but we must also remember the runs that each batsman has contributed (ok, some more than others
).
So, the big question: You're captain of a team, what do you go for?
A batsman who can keep (will average 30 but drop 3 out of 7 chances) or
A keeper who can bat (will average low 20's but only drop 9 out of 10 chances) or
Something completely different!
