Kram's Backyard Wicket (98-02 seasons)
Not bad I tell ya. 1/3 length, surface consisting of a long medium length carpet off-cut. Auto-wicky/ball-stopper-net in U form behind stumps, consisting of chicken wire supported by star pickets.
Balls used - an array of old indoor cricket balls, conditions proved conducive to spin, almost Warne like. (plenty of bounce also!) Mate once bowled me around the legs, although he did have the slight help of a gentle upward gradient to the olive tree on the leg side.
My other mate often decided to to just bowl fairly straight, utilizing the general unevenness of the pitch to gain subtle variations - with limited success.
Ah the memories. Might have to sort another one of these out one day when I own my own house?
