That is hardly a fair poll. Normally I'd go neither but since it is India, and you have to have a spinner, possibly White, and only because he is a better batsman.

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

could be a long test series if thats the only options.White is good one day bowler but he bowls it too flat and quick for Indian decks. The quicks will have to pull something out of the bag i'm guessing.

I'd personally take White as even he could turn it in India and he is a gun bat.

got 2 be white. krezja 0-199 off 31 overs...... clearly not up to it.

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

Krejza. At least give him one test to see what he's really made of. Despite playing poorly in the warm-up game, he is the specialist spinner and I'm sure he'll be dead keen to improve on that performance against the Indian President's XI.

White isn't much of a test bowler let alone a bowler at all. In my opinion he doesn't spin it enough to warrant a spot. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if he debuts in the series.

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

White easily, although as someone who doesnt support Australia I would prefer to see Krezja play the first couple, get smashed, Aus lose the series then White gets his chance, performs and kicks Watson out of the side for the home series

But you can be damn sure that when White plays, he will be blamed for the loss even though the whole team isnt good enough

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

Krezja for me, only because he is a full-time spinner.
White has been a part-timer for 3 years now, only bowling at most 10 overs a day and in India, your spinner is sometimes required to bowl 25-20 overs a day, could he stand the workload?

Krezja can do that, White I dunno.

Well in the warm up match he bowled 30 overs for the match and got hit for 199 runs so he would'nt bowl that much in the test ,anyway play white the pitches will suit him and is a better batter and fielder.

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

Do you think the selectors with stick with White now after the last test. I expect they will at least for one more. Though it did seem Ponting had more faith in Michael Clarke as first choice spinner.

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

Give Krejza a go, Cameron White is hopless, he cant spin the ball he bowls on a stupid line and length and so much for a gun batter, he's made wat about 10 runs for the year. Get rid of him, why not bring a young talented spinner from State cricket like Beau Casson and give him ago, he can bowl and he can bat, none of which Cameron white can do.

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

His first over of 11 summed up the fact he isn't up to test cricket even on a pitch that offer's so much to the spinner. He went for what 24 off 4 overs or something ridiculous like that.

When McGain is fit let him roll his arm over for a few tests and then hopefully some of the younger guys (Casson, Kresja, Holland to an extent) can push through and be ready for test cricket

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

You'd have to pick Krejza for the 4th test now. White's had three chances to show us what he's got and hasn't really impressed. They dropped Casson after a reasonable series in the West Indies, surely they'd have to drop White now, just not good enough at the moment.

Thats right mate, why not Casson, he performed over in the Carribean and he's performing in the State season, they need to send White home and tell him to get his act together or he'll never play for Australia again which at the moment he deserves not to be playing.

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

Get this.

They didnt pick Casson as they thought his speed through the air wasnt quick enough.

Cool, we'll just make our opening batsmen bowl a few overs instead.

To add insult to injury, Katich bowls about the same speed as Casson

Re: Krezja or White for first test?

Or maybe other than the fact he is crap, after McGains injury they didnt want to risk another unfit player as Casson had also gone home from the A tour with an injury
